My group and I are picking up with KoD again this Friday with the Holidays finally over. I've typed up a brief recap to read to them in order to refresh their memories of what has happened so far. I thought I'd share it. :P

You began in the town of Pashin, drawn together by the prophet known as the Herald, you were sent to retrieve an elven item known as the Key of Quinari. Liberating it from the hands of a former Black Knight squire you were soon beseeched by Shaylin, leader of the inflicted Silvanesti refugees, to take the Key through the Burning Lands to a place called the Shattered Temple.

Fleeing through the sewers of Pashin, you braved the dangers of the Khurish desert till crossing paths with the Mikku Tribe and their Chief, Alakar the Silent. Enjoying their gracious hospitality you were soon visited by the spirit of Alakar’s deceased daughter, Uleena. She beckoned you to go to the ruins of Hurim to retrieve an item called “The Shard of Light”.

Escorted by the Mikku, you entered the cursed Valley of Hurim. Fending off the restless undead of the forsaken ruins you descended into the Shattered Temple. Within its lamented walls you were assaulted by undead and the visions of the past revealing the horror that befell the once holy temple and its followers. Betrayed by one of their own, a former cleric of Mishakal dubbed the Betrayer, the residence of Hurim were slaughtered by the Ogres’ of Blode and forever damned by the malevolence of the god Chemosh. Finding the remains of the Betrayer and narrowly defeating a minion of the Undead God, you retrieved the Shard of Light, a blade of divine power.

Shortly after exiting the Valley of Hurim you were again visited by Uleena who cryptically ushered you to take the Shard to the ruins of Kendermore. Upon reuniting with Mikku tribe you were guided to the port city of Ak-Khurman. Entering the Khur City you replenished your supplies as well as your resolve. However, this did not come without its own perils. Several of your group (Irongut, Terrion, and Drax) had a chance encounter with the local thieves guild, the Silver Shadows. Where as Kelthos, accompanied by Grigor, undertook the trails the Test of High Sorcery, which cost the elven wizard his sight and horribly scarred the young Solamic.

Following these events you were booked passage on a ship courtesy of the Legion of Steel and set sail across the sea towards Port Balifor. After defending the ship from scrags you reached your destination and headed off into the disheveled city. You were directed by the locals to the whereabouts of the Kagonesti elf, Elijayess, for whom you were delivering a message from the Steel Legion, repaying your debit for your voyage. Finding Elijayess in the company of afflicted kender, you met with their leader, Kronn Thistleknot. Telling the aged kender of your quest he offered the services of the Kagonesti elf in order help guide you across the Desolation, the former realm of the Dragon Overlord Malystryx, The Red Marauder.

Not long after leaving Port Balifor towards the Desolation you came to the assistance of the Solamic Knight, Sir Aldreth Auchuran. Aiding him in defeating Dark Knight draconian loyalists you continue your way to the base of the Goodland Mountains where the ravaged expanse of the Desolation awaits beyond its towering summit ….

Thanks.

I know its a pretty basic recap, but I just wanted to touch on the main points of what has happened in the campaign so far.

Cool recap. You should write that up for the Nexus' campaign journal section. ;)

I'm running KoD right now myself, and having a blast. Best part thus far was our half-elf (Qualinesti) ranger who was under the tunnels of Qualinost when it collapsed. He was trapped for hours and has a healthy dose of claustrophobia. Imagine his reaction when he went into the sewers of Pashin!

The swashbuckler in our group had to knock him out in order to get him into the sewers. :D

How far into the module is your group right now?

How far into the module is your group right now?

Middle of chapter 2. They've met the Mikku, and are about to enter Hurim.

We can only get together monthly, so the going is a bit slow.

That's about the same place I'm at with my group, which is one person, but he is just about to meet the Mikku....But I might start over again since my wife has hinted at some interest in playing (GASP..) and have her group meet up with the other group at the point the other group is at, having my other player co-dm with me since he's already been through it, and taking off all new again for the Mikku. My wife, rolling up a D&D character....never thought I would see the day in a million years.
