I've been looking over the first chapter of SoS. Its seems pretty decent. Several of the encounters look especially deadly.

I'm rather disappointed that Lord Crager Bloodholt from KoD didn't make an appearance (at least not in the preview). I'm thinking of using him as a replacement commander in one of the several dark knight encounters. I figure this would be a great opportunity for him to repay his debt to the party.

What are others thoughts on the preview so far?

My group has actually already played the preview. They are now travelling other side of the Ansalon (don't ask how&why), but are trying to get back to Flotsam with the Tears. Hope the SoS comes out soon. Not that I can't make adventures on the way, but I don't want group to advance too much...

I liked the first chapter very much, I guess players liked also - they had rough time. When they finally got to the Darkhaven I actually but them face to face with Lord Bloodholt. He is still alive, and I have changed his role - He's now charge of recovering the Tears and Dragonlance, assigned by Neraka, so he will appear later on...

Good things in first chapter:
- Desolation adventures give lots of playing. I personally had characters improsened by Dark Knights, but not taken to Darkhaven to give little more adventuring.
- Meeting with Pantheon was great. I think the players just dropped from their chairs when "truth" was layed to them - And how big their "holy" mission actually is, and how many others are involved.
- Goblin-Tunnels give nice adventure idea which easily could be expanded really big tunnel adventure. I run multiple encounters. I was thinking about expanding this scene, but my players don't really like "tunnel-adventuring".
- Darkhaven also gives nice opportunities to expand that scene to easily full session + maybe little getaway to the goblin-tunnels after that Dread Hounds and other trackers on players tail.

Would have been nice if there would have been specs about the Tears though...
