Out of curiosity, does anyone know if Athas.org will be posting more Athasian art? Do they have enough artists on their team?

By "posting more" I guess you mean the few pieces of art found on the athas.org website?
Normally there should be more added to that, even an art section.

As for artists, we're always in need of more. Right now I'm the art guy for athas.org, so if you're that artist, drop me a line and your portfolio so I can see if we can use your work.

What would you like to see in a portfolio? Would that include any artwork or do you prefer primarily fantasy art? Would Darksun Art be more relevent? After putting together my portfolio, how would be the best way to send it? I have a digital camera would that be enough?

What would working on this project entail? Would I be working on assigned projects? How much creativity will be allowed?

Of course, I happen to be a fan of Darksun that is why I would work on such a project. I may envision certain aspects of Darksun differently than previous artists, because somethings don't have the feel or design that I would like to have seen. None the less I am willing to depict the feel and designs that athas.org wishes to express.

Should I create any new art for the portfolio? Could you also create an assignment for me to include in my portfolio? This way you can look at my imagination and my interpretation not just my technical skills.

It might make things a little easier if you could make a general list of some things that should be in it. Thanx. (:

Hello, I wanted to offer a hand.

I would be happy to help with some of the art as well. I graduated w/ a degree in Fine Arts, attended AIC for a year in an attempt to get into the Computer Animation industry. Currently I work on this as a hobby.

I played DS about 5+ years ago, and although I don't have the time to run a campaign again, I still enjoy keeping up on the progress of Athas.org. I would be happy to lend a hand. If you have a specific idea you need fleshed out I would be happy to develop some preliminary sketches for you. If you would like to view some of my past work I could mail or scan/send you some slides.

I look forward to getting involved and hope to hear from you.

that'd be my fault. I'm working on trying to incorporate some gallery software for the site. It's kinda the login functionality (as in, not requiring a separate login) that has me choked at the moment ...

But we do have a collection of artwork. You can submit to jon@athas.org and flip@athas.org to at least make it into the collection of stuff that gets considered for the rulebooks.

Both of you send me a link to an online archive of your work or send me by email what you believe is a good representation of your drawing/painting/cg technique(s).

As for the style of the work, you all know it from having looked at DS material.
Some of the stuff I've received is unappropriate IMO for an athas.org supplements (like manipulations of photos to achieve a hand-drawned effect), but is more than appropriate for the athas.org website' future art section.
If you got general ideas of the sort, please do work on them and we'll integrate them in the website later on.

Mostly we desire drawings, although some people have used computer aids to some degree, i.e. extensive photoshoping and co., to achieve the final product.

Depending on the speed with which you can work on these, we can ask you to make between 1 and 3 illustrations (more if you are a god ). We either give you background information that you must try and illustrate or we give you general lines to follow. Like right now we don't have any specific illustations needing to be realized for any of the upcoming supplements. That will come later when the writing work is more advanced.
But here's an idea: you two can use your imagination to freely illustrate Jon's prestige class document for a start...that would be nice. I'm sure something in there has already sparked your attention....

Of course, once I'm done with the critters (almost there, have a bunch drawn, but not scanned in yet), I'll be able to offer my skills in the illustration department, as well.
