Hy,

I am an Italian fan of DarkSun and I would need of some clarifications ;)

The document ds3_imageless_v1.00.pdf Released November 8, 2003 (from athas.org) contains the rules of the D&D 3.0 or it was been update for 3.5?

Moreover if you think to have updated to the pdf to rules of 3.5, why the psionic it is still in version 3.0 but it does not follow the rules of the Expanded Psionic Handbook (as an example in the pdf there are are the powers of level 0 ). According to me the Expanded Psionic Handbook the psionic has been a lot changed but in the Released of 8 November 2003 i still find level to 0 and the table of the powers that more sense would not have.

An other thing: how never the race of the thri-kreen was been less powerful regarding the previous ones release and why his is various than that present on the MM2?

I thanks anyone had to answer and all the guys who work for the situated one athas.org. :D

Dregoth Ascending is indeed a spectacular adventure!!!!

Congratulation

I think those that handled the monster-conversion felt that the Thri-Kreen presented in the MM2 didn't quite have the same...ehr...Oomph? as an Athasian Thri-Kreen.

The athas.org kreen differs from the WotC kreen in a couple of areas. It has different ability score modifiers (no Str bonus and no Int penalty) and its poison is a little more potent (paralysis instead of Dex damage as primary damage). The WotC kreen also gets a Hide bonus in desert terrain. Wotc kreen are also naturally psionic in the XPH (with a correspondingly higher LA) - athas.org kreen are not. Other than that, they are pretty much the same and there shouldn't be any major impact on your game whichever one you use. The variations are due to minor differences in design approach, nothing more .

As for the psionics, the Core Rules are being updated at present to incorporate 3.5 psionics rules. They'll be in the next release. The current version of the Core Rules otherwise uses 3.5 rules - it was released before the XPH came out so its psionics chapter is still 3.0.

You're welcome . Yes, the adventures feature 3.5 psionics rules as they were either written that way or were easily updated. The psionics chapter in the Core Rules involves a bit more work, so has taken longer.
