Do you think that Draconians could be on the chart for reincarnation? Now I realize they weren't made "naturally", but now they are being born in natural ways so I dont see it as much of a problem.

Now I dont want a debate about if "raise dead" spells exist in Dragonlance and how hard or rare they are. I've pretty much accepted they exist in mine, even if they are kind of hard to do, so it doesnt matter if someone would say "but but that rarely happens in Dragonlance..." I've read two novels of where its happened, so it doesnt bother me much. Also my groups rarely ever want to raise someone anyways, so I dont have a problem of it happening all the time. Most of the time my party likes playing new PC's enough that its not a huge huge thing if something happens.

Anyways, an NPC druid that is with them currently has Reincarnation memorized and I'm thinking of having himc ast it if something were to happen. Maybe to forge trust between him and the party.

I'm wanting to update the table a little and add in some of the Dragonlance races, and take out a few I dont think should belong there. Do you think Draconians would be a viable race to have added now that its 150+ years after their creation? I'm interested in people's thoughts.

Doesn't seem very likely at all. Reincarnated creatures are usually natural. However, draconians breed true now that there are females living with males, so it's a lot easier to justify now. Just don't put dragonspawn on the list.

Cheers,

Reincarnate would be a good chance to play Aurak draconians, whose ECL usually makes it an impossibility. (Our best guess seems to place it at ECL 12-16)

Well if the prerequisite to being reincarnated is being a natural creature, one could onely be reincarnated as an elf, human, ogre, bakali (maybe), and the like. One could never be reincarnated as a dwarf, gnome, kender, minotaur, etc. since they really aren't that natural either since they were "created" via magic/divine intervention, just like draconians were. I would say that being reincarnated as a draconian is possible, just a very small probability though.

I would say that reincarnation follows the same rules as polymorph. No becoming creatures with templates, etc.

Well an aurak is an ECL 12. My players are currently 9th-11th level, so they are coming up to this point pretty quick anyways. I actually like this level of play because they are able to play certain races that arent very viable before at lower levels. Although an Aurak is pretty badass. My girlfriend made one up, and it looked pretty killer even without having any class levels. She makes up so many characters, that I seriously doubt the PC will ever get used though.

Anyways, I've been planning on expanding the Reincarnate spell's chart for some time just to get it more in toon with Dragonlance. I'm going to add Draconians just because now that they are breeding, I dont see much of a problem. I'm not going to add Dragonspawn like Cam said, but that may happen in the future since I'm going to consider a female and male dragonspawn as being able to have children. I've done this because I've found Noble Draconians to be redundant, so basically Dragonspawn are able to take this role. Well, the few who retained their consciousness(sp?). They are made a little bit differently too, which I like. I have a Green Dragonspawn Druid helping the party out right now in Sable's swamp. I originally made him a Noble Draconian, but changed him because of my thoughts above.

This is probably actually a moot point because I'm not even sure if any of my players would want to be reincarnated. I dont think they'll appreciate the loss of level, but if they die they lose levels anyways. My rule is the person can make up a new character 2 levels less than the highest PC. This makes them always around the same level of eachother. But they usually favor playing a new character. Thats one good thing, they make up so many characters, that while they really like their characters, its not so hard for them to move on and start playing a new one.

A Human Black Robe, a Sivak Fighter, a Human Rogue/Ranger/Assassin, and a Human Sorceror/Blood Magus. It makes for fun gaming sessions =)
