This is just too weird not to share.

Hmmm... IIRC, the Nithians officially actually had a colony in what is "modern" Dunadale, so perhaps there is a "Nithdale" vilalge there, too...

I *know* the Nithians were there in my Mystara...

Hehe.

I found a more modern link too.

I like it!

(I did once end up in Scotland playing Runequest - we deposited a dragon's egg recovered from some thieves near a large lake - then went back to Glorantha)

I also found that there are quite a few people with Nithia as their first name, and various other non-Mystara references.

Alas, I did not find what I was looking for in the first place, which is a scan of the Delta Kingdom side of the HWR2 map. The ESD which I bought in January only includes the Southern Kingdom, and although I actually have no less than 3 copies of the map here in the real world ;), I don't have access to a scanner...

Without the scan, my map will be not nearly so accurate, and will take at least 5 times as long, possibly more.

And we thought the Known World cultures were too close to each other...

(And Thorf, shouldn't you get some sleep? I mean, finding the Scottish Nithia is a bit over the edge. Isn't it? ;) )

I haven't bought this ESD yet, but I'm sure many who have won't have the original to refer to, and will be looking here for a map covering the area they're missing.

Is it allowed for someone to e-mail Thorf a scan to speed up his project?
Makes sense to me!

Legally speaking, I think the answer is probably no. But I have no qualms about asking around about it when I've already paid for the original supplement in real life three times AND the ESD. :D :P

I still think it's pretty disgusting that the ESDs aren't all complete. I bought quite a few specifically to have access to the map without carting my books and stuff 6000 miles across the world, and quite a few left me disappointed. (TM2, PC3, HWR1, HWR2, GAZ7 come to mind.)

Is it possible that the ESD people never even noticed that was a double-sided map? I wouldn't think so, but what other reason would there be for not having it...?

Anyway, don't have a scanner myself, but I do have the map, so again, if I can be of any assistance in that regards, let me know.

Well, the people who scanned the ESDs seem to have done lots of shoddy, half-done jobs, I'm afraid. Some have whole maps missing, others have pages missing or repeated. Almost all have gaps between the scans so that even if you cut them out and paste them together, you can't remake the map properly.

In Nithia's case, it's hard to see how they could have failed to notice the map was double sided. Perhaps they just thought it was the same on both sides, or simply forgot to do the other side. Either way, when they were making a product to sell, in the end it's just negligence and a job badly done.

Anyway, don't have a scanner myself, but I do have the map, so again, if I can be of any assistance in that regards, let me know.

Thanks!

Ironically, I do have access to my father's scanner, or rather I can ask my brother back home to do it for me. Unfortunately I took all three copies of my Nithian map to Japan with me by mistake...
