i thought i'd read somewhere that rajaat was pyreen. but in the cerulean storm it mentions that he has a human spirit.

if he is pyreen, what are the stats for pyreen? has there been a write up for them?

thanks

Yes he is a Pyreen, a mutated one at that.

Not sure about the human spirit thing, don't remember reading that.

No stats yet, but will be down the road once we start on an epic monster manual or something.

is a pyreen looking like a 20+ HD race?

maybe like you guys wrote up the high drik? it gets a level of spell caster/ psion or druid with each racial HD?

I was thinking of something close to the Leshay from the Epic handbook, but time will tell how it turns out, especially since I'm not even sure what bureau will be doing all of that. I can only assume it will be a joint effort between the monster and epic bureaus.

Wow! That Leshay really is something!

But 50HD is a bit too epic, or it could be related to age?

I said "something close", not exact, sheesh. :P

I would like to see it at least 30+ HD though, and with druid abilities based on said HD, etc.

But I'm not in the right mindset right now to writeup something for it.

I think the most powerful pyreen should about equivalent to the weakest 'advanced being'. They are naturally powerful but cant attain that (extra)power level that the humans/demi-humans can.
On that note will the advanced beings still have race restrictions?

Making Pyreen as powerful as LeShay would be an overkill. A fistful of them could smite any SK

Hey,

Just lurking around and felt like asking you guys, is there an extensive description of pyreens or Rajaat in any of the sourcebooks, perhaps even a drawing? I only have the Revised setting and noted the "Pyreen Grove" entry.

Thanks,
Andrew

The first dark sun monstrous compendium (DSMCII) has an entry for them plus lists a bunch of important NPC personnalities too.

That's it at the top of my head and at 03:35 in the morning. (Darn, there is no :bleary: smily in the list...)

A fistful of them could really smite a SK. They hunt Dragons, I read this somewhere, hm, they are all 16-20 Lvl Druids, 13-17 Lvl Psi and have the fighting skills of a 16 Lvl Fighter (look at their THAC0).

Alar Ch'Aranol should have at least be in the mid 40.

Uh, maybe in your dream world.

There isn't much to them other than a few sp abilities and 50 HD, nothing to get scared about IMO anyways.

The SMs would eat them for breakfast if they are done right.

He's saying that because you said they're 50HD and have druid abilities equivalent to their HD, so that's 50th level druids running around.

Compared to what the SMs are capable of that's still not much for them to get scared of. One on one anyways...

Not even sure that is even the right way to go about it, but they would have some major spellcasting levels as a druid.

Right now it's all speculation though, and when it comes time to deal with this I'm sure it will be done properly. I have alot of faith in both bureaus who will probably be dealing with this.

Bring it on!

Nothing personal, I'm just in an argumentative, debating, ranting mood today (Isn't that everyday though? Don't answer that...).

I recently glanced at one of the books that preceeded the RaFoaDK, they were trying to raise the Guardian Spirit (spirit of the land) that resided in Urik.. well.. apparently, when there was a really strong druid in the area, though she could cast lesser druid magics in Hamannu's presence, she couldn't access greater magics, nor could she summon a guardian in Urik.... now, the SKs have those elemental conduits.. granting that magic..

Does anyone here remember what that old 2e psionic power is called that kinda grumbles and screws over the attempt of anyone to use psionics in an area?? could it be argued that for a special power, the SK's with vortices.. are able to sort of short circuit an area arround them so that druids can't gain major spells??? I'd think that would be great in that war the SK's had with the druids a while back... In my campaign's I'd like to add that ability to just the SM's, so that they could be even tougher than your general AB Dragon embryo..
