hello all, I haven't gamed in D&D since 1985. Looking to get back into it, where is a good place to start. I'm in INdiana, heard there was a club in Ft.Wayne, looking into that. The game seems to have changed so much. Any an all help would be appriciated.

Well, you have a big decsion to make right out of the gate. That would be what edition to play. Lets see, off the top of my head, 1985 would put you in Basic D&D or 1st edition AD&D. Since then, there has been 2nd Edition AD&D, D&D 3.0 and D&D 3.5 (current).

MY PERSONAL OPINION: I like D&D 3.0 the best. I think that 3.5 is a little hooky. But I'm sure that several people will disagree with me and say that 3.5 is much cleaner. Though I think that most people (myself included) play D&D 3.25 (taking the things that they like from both sets and creating a home brew game that everyone likes).

The good news is, if you like the Greyhawk setting (like we all do) The Core Books (PHB, DMG, MM) are all in Greyhawk. In other words, Greyhawk is the default setting in the D&D 3.0 and 3.5 games.

I might also check out the Gamer Classifieds (in the Wizards Message Boards Community). There you can post and/or respond to posts made to find people in your area that what to play the same game that you do.

You might want to check the forum boards at www.kenzerco.com. Look under Gamerdom and you'll find a thread called Seeking Players. That might help you find a game.

I live in NW Ohio (Bryan in Williams County) about an hour from Fort Wayne, Ind., and do most of my gaming shopping there. Both "The Keep" and "Books, Comics, and Things" are Friendly Local Game Stores that carry WoTC stuff and might have info on getting started/getting a group together. They should both be in the phone book.
