*WARNING*

The following link leads to a site that may content sexual or pornographic content. If you click on the link, be sure that you can cope with what you find there.*

It was not my intention to propagate pornographical issues, but to show my disgust of how low some people obviously can sink, even if they are supposed to do such a considerably harmless hobby like roleplaying.

Keep Greyhawk free of such a junk!

Different...

And perhaps a bit inappropriate for linking here, but I guess that's up to the Wizos.

Not my cup of tea, but to each their own.

Well, FTR, I wasn't offended, there isn't anything especially graphic over there, and I didn't go as far as reporting this thread, but like you said, there are some youngins lurking around here, and others who might object, so IMO a warning or something might be a reasonable precaution.

I wouldn't worry about it too much. If you follow the link, you're asked to log in at the destination site, so it's not like anyone is going to stumble onto anything.

I'm not registered at ezboard, and didn't feel the need to do so just to see what you were talking about. Whatever you found obviously touched a nerve if it prompted you to start a thread about it. What was it (and what does it have to do with Greyhawk)?

From my brief look, its basically an in character forum with a "book of erotic fantasy meets greyhawk" kind of theme.

*Posted a warning*

It's abviously a private board for erotic roleplaying or whatever that means. *Even with a ezboard account, you cannot enter.*

I was just disgusted that it uses Greyhawk as its setting...

I mean, we all are free individuals to do how we please, but it offends me that apparently one of the few ezboards having the term *Greyhawk* with them deals with pornographic issues.

Seriously, I think RPGing is one of the few places in the world where pornographical content should have no room. There may be wackos who enjoy that, and well, *after returning to the temple, we take a short stop at the brothel* may be inavoidable for some groups, but people who dedicate EXLUSIVELY to that? Let them do as they please, but please, let them do that FAR away from me!

Diff'rent stroke for diff'rent folks, Ivid (apparently "of the Pale" based on your obvioiusly kill-joy view of things). Since this is on another board entirely, one that requires a different login, I'd consider that far enough away. Save your outrage for something worthwhile.

;) I didn't want to act as *thought police* or anything alike.
Also, my first, unedited post was without that kind of sharp judgement.
But chatdemon was right in reminding me that someone could feel offended by looking at that site without previous warning and that my thread could be interpreted as if I was doing publicity for that board. *So, I explained my personal position, the classical lawful neutral wanna-be-paladin of Allitur that I am.*

I just considered it funny *and a bit weird* that when you search an ezboard for Greyhawk, this is one of the first things you stumble over.
I am far away from any Jack Chick-en attitude to judge people who do *whatever they do on such kinds of boards*; it was just the first time that I saw anything alike on the web, and as such a thing is not too common between most Hawkers (I think), I wanted to share my discovery.

So, no offense anyone, please.
As RPG is essentially a way to spend your private free time, everyone should be allowed to do whatever produces positive feelings. :embarrass

It's not my pair of shoes, after all...

:D
We got Greyhawk *Light*.
We got Greyhawk *Noir*.
Now we got Greyhawk *Porn*.

HeHe, I just found my old D&D Basic Set from 1980 or so (TSR 1001) and let me quote this straight from the box: "DUNGEONS & DRAGONS - The Original Adult Fantasy Role Playing Game" :D

Cheerio,

Um. Apparently, I'm a patron over there.

Is it legal for someone to use "Greyhawk" in their messageboard title without permission? Or, actually, what I mean to ask is, can WotC forbid them from doing so?

And how did I become a patron there?

I am of the opinion that adult content can be appropriate in gaming, but the depiction of actual sex is out of the question. Even the most graphic game I was in never had actual RP of sex, there was always a fade to black, maybe jokingly a CON check to see how long the night was, but that was about it.

I've been in G rated and X rated (for violence) alike and all can be enjoyable, but the GM has to make the material appropriate for the most prudish person at the table and the rest should respect his/her wishes or find another group to play with.

That's exactly the point.

I mean, I am male and heterosexual and I really would feel *weird* if I had to explain my other (mostly also male players) the details of their sexual interactions (and play the role of the female... Uh-ooh, I hope it's a human or a she-elf and not an owlbear or an Illithid... ). IMC, such stuff has no place.

However, as I said, if others find *pleasure* in doing so, I have no problem with that, as long as they don't bother me. Although I still think it is a bit sick.

Roleplaying as I see it, especially as I see Greyhawk, has to do with butchering Spiderqueens, not with disgusting dreams about violating them.

I mean, there won't be anyone on THESE boards who tells me that he likes such a kind of snuff - video?!

*No funny attitude this time*

*sigh* The lengths some fans will go to in boosting the fan base!

Seriously Ivid, I'm with you on this one... whatever floats someones boat is fine, but what the connection with WoG is must have gone way over my head.

Can't comment on the content, and not likely to be in a position to, but I get the idea. My kids are just getting into 'Hawk, as are some of their school friends. That potential connection is unwelcome, if it provides a distorted view of what this hobby is about! Whatever place there is for such creative outlet, its link to a published setting is inapproptiate IMHO.

Thank you for the support.

Let's hope that this won't be the only frequently visited Greyhawk site on yahoo...

Uh? - Wizo_Paradox removed the link?! *Very well, I want to forget about this tihs as soon as possible.

I don't think the idea of an erotic fantasy board using GH is a bad thing. To each his own. Personally, I doubt it has the kind of acclaim that could even possibly taint our beloved campaign setting so I wouldn't worry about it. The 30-something single, disheveled males who browse that board probably don't realize that the female elf who is their paramour "alternative lifestyle lover" (in other words happy) is probably also being played by another 30-something single, disheveled male on the other end. Thankfully most of those people waste their time playing WoW or EQ to be much of a bother.
