Terrors of the Dead Lands has been updated to 3.5E.

Also included in this revision are new Athasian undead.

Many thanks to the Monsters bureau for the update. They worked very hard on this.

I'm missing something here.
Why do Wraiths have the Necromant ability if they don't have spellcasting abilities, and don't have a LA count with which a DM could give them spellcasting levels? (As I understand it, a creature without an LA count can't gain class levels.)

Also, from what I heard I was sure I'd find the Defiling Skeleton template in there, converted from Dragon Magazine pages. What happened with that?

So where are mindscapes, exactly? The description seems to say Astral Plane, but the In The Empty Gray section mentions that finding a particular mindscape in the Deep Gray takes more time, which would imply mindscapes are...in the Gray?

I'm greatly appreciative of the fact that the new notation for the undead templates' hit dice says "All current and future Hit Dice becom X"
thus clarifying the issue of whether a Kaisharga ot T'liz can gain levels.

Incorrect; they can gain class levels.

The monster just isn't very interesting, so we dropped it.

They are in the Astral, but we had them in the Gray at one time and missed the reference when updating.

The ashen can go through the Ash Rebirth when it gets destroyed on a patch of defiler's ash...so I'm confused as to why the Monster Bureau added that it also happens when its destroyed through a defiler's spell. The way its written, it doesn't imply that its because the ashen is within the rival's defiling radius, but only that he's destroyed by a defiler spell.

Also, anyone tracking an ashen gets a tracking bonus, I suppose because of the ashen footsteps, but when the undead is satiated it no longer leaves ashen footsteps, so the section with the tracking bonus should reflect that change.

As for the ashen form after the Ash Rebirthing being like a Large fire lemental, does that mean the ashen can use the Burn ability? Does it loses its natural attacks?

Anyhow, good job on the ashen rewrites!

The monster just isn't very interesting, so we dropped it.

I guess I'll have to cook up something with Kam and Nyt cause I really liked that one when I first read it.
I mean, a basic 2 Cp undead that regenerates to full hp when destroyed is just...too awesome and terrifying for players.
And since for a while it was supposed to be a template, I thought it could have been added to any created undead like skeletons, zombies, and morgs.

Pretty cool.

I agree with you wholeheartedly, Pennarin. I have always liked the defiling skeleton. (template or not.)

Good work guys! Thanks a lot!

I can imagine... Looking over those weaknesses and specail qualities I can see that being a pain to figure out.
