Thread Title : Question about an old box set

I have an old Arneson/Gygax set in the white box. The illustration on the front shows a wizard zapping the living daylights out of some critters. It’s been my understanding that it’s a 1977 set, some kind of special edition, but there is nothing on the box identifying it as such. The books inside, which are the three “core” books, are all dated 1974. “Eldritch Wizardry”, which I bought later off of e-Bay, is from 1979 (I believe. It’s been a hectic morning.). Can anyone tell me the age of this set, or should I post a pic? I’m not trying to sell it. I’m just curious, is all.
