I was have been looking through the releases section of Athas.org and inside a majority of the documents and there is one thing that I feel needs to be changed in mast of them.

The version #, date last updated, and if it is 3.0 or 3.5 material is really wrong on most of the items. For example the Dark Sun 3 material under Rules Material is wrong (I think). I thought that there had been an update to the material to 3.5 sometime in 2004. At the bottom of the pages of the document it says release v1.0 on 11/8/03.

The only reason that I bring this up is it is hard to know what material has been updated to 3.5 and which versions are the most up-to-date.

I'm working on going through and making sure things are updated.

The "problem" is basically that there are at least two places where the release dates and versions are input, and that half the time, I utterly forget to update the versions on the /releases/ page ... so, the release gets mentioned in the news, and on the product page itself, but not on the product index page.
One of those things I'm working on adjusting. Massively violates the DRY (Don't Repeat Yourself) principal, and precisely demonstrates the reason for that principal.

For that matter, we've yet to manage to adopt any kind of consistant versioning numbering scheme. I'm thinking of this:

[:ds-version:]-[:product name:]{-pre,}-[:release count:]

For example, a preview/prerelease/playtest of the PrC doc would be:

ds35-PrestigeClassesVol1-pre-2.pdf
and the next release would be ds35-PrestigeClassesVol1-pre-3.pdf
and the final release would be ds35-PrestigeClassesVol1-v1.pdf
Spaces are out -- they make life uncomfortable on a Unix machine, which is where the files are served from.

Clear as silt, right? ;)

Thanks Flip

I know it is a lot of work getting everything together in a coherent fashion just to be able to have the documents read correctly.

I love the work you guys are doing and I hope to be posting some of my own material soon on the message boards to see if I can add some of my own experience and ability to the whole.

Flip, there's no reference to the Prestige Class Appendix Vol. I on the product page. There should be.
