I'm confused as to the meaning of this section in BOLD, from chapter 3:

Undead typically have a base of 1d3 special abilities. To
determine the type of special ability, roll d%. The ability has an
equal chance of being a weakness (01-33), a special attack (34-66),
or a special quality (67-00). Then, for each condition appropriate to
the undead, add or subtract the corresponding number of special
attacks, special qualities, or weaknesses (to a minimum of 0).

1. The sample t'liz has a Str of 14 (+2) and yet has a slam Str bonus of +2.

Since the slam attack is the only natural attack of the t'liz, it should inflict 1-1/2 Str damage, for +3.

No?

2. The same t'liz has a Fort save of +10. At 17th level of wizard, it gets +5 and it has no Constitution score, so...where does that number come from?

Since the slam attack is the only natural attack of the t'liz, it should inflict 1-1/2 Str damage, for +3.

The t'liz can perform two slams with a full attack, so doesn't qualify for the Str x 1.5 bonus.

2. The same t'liz has a Fort save of +10. At 17th level of wizard, it gets +5 and it has no Constitution score, so...where does that number come from?

Well, the Fort save is OK - it's the Ref save that is wrong. The sample t'liz has a cloak of resistance +5, so its saves should be Fort +10 (Base +5, Cloak +5), Ref +15 (Base +5, Dex +5, Cloak +5), Will +20 (Base +10, Wis +3, Cloak +5, Iron Will +2). It looks as as if the t'liz' Gloves of Dexterity +6 were incorporated into the abilities but not the saves .
