Man, I just had an exciting idea. Using Heroes of Battle for a campaign that takes place during the Greyhawk Wars. The major events can still take place, but tactical missions could still be played to help lessen the damage or better the positive results.

They even mentioned the Greyhawk Wars in one of the promos, so I'm hopeful. But not yet sold. All WotC purchases are hands on reviews before buying at this point.

What I'd like to do is incorporate some military campaigns in with the G series. Instead of it being just 3 clans of giants, I'm making it a whole giant invasion of the surrounding countries, with the leaders being at the sites the modules describe. So it's not only important to kill the leaders, but bring back info to the besieged countries so they can better form their defenses. It would be fun for the PCs to lead military missions based on the info they had gained, so they could see first hand the results of their efforts.

I had a similar thing going on with the A1-4 series involving the Ulek/Pomarj conflict, but I had most of the military conflict going on off stage. It would have been neat to have the PC's more involved, but I didn't want to have a bunch of "you vs. 20 orcs" fights, that's boring. Hopefully this book will have some ideas I can use.

I'll buy the book for sure!

As far as I've seen, it contains a lot of good ideas for any high fantasy setting!
*Given that my current settings, Greyhawk, DL, TRoB and even RL, are all war-torn lands, what could be better than a book telling me how I can enhance some war-encounters for my game...*

Can't wait to read it!
