I was wondering, are Draconians likely (when they get enough treasure) to pile it up and then sleep on it? Or are they more like men, in that they use treasure to buy luxuries and power?

Sorry...I just had this vision in my head of Kang crawling into his room on all fours and scraping up his gold coins (they're going to be softer, duh!) with his paws into a nice little pile, (I've seen my dog do it with his blanket) then getting ready to fall asleep on it when Slith walks in to say something and sees him just freezes while Kang jumps up and uses his robe to hide his hoard/bed.

"Slith...knock next time, KNOCK!!"

"I'm sorry sir."

"Did you see anything?"

"No...I didn't see you sleeping on your hoard again sir..."

(sorry...too much Spaceballs)

Anyway...to answer your question...I'd say they probably don't. But, they may very well have the urges to do so. It just depends on how heidonistic they are on whether or not they act on that instinct, I suppose.

You could make this an interesting cultural point of Draconian society. Some Draconians revel in their Dragonhood, hoarding treasure like the most decadent great wyrm. Others spurn that and insist on being as "humanoid" as possible, trying to assimilate into Ansalonian society as just another race. Still others take a middle path, keeping a small symbolic hoard, perhaps a few coins stacked neatly in a place of honor in their home, as an acknowledgement of their draconic heritage.

Draconians, to me, are the type of race that they can have a variety of "mutations", if you will, depending on how much of their draconic heritage they take with them. For example, some have breath weapons, some don't.

The hoard idea would be interesting for a draconian rogue. It gives reason for his thievery. He just has this instinct, based on his draconic heritage, to steal - all to have a hoard to call his own.

Maybe a few coins under their pillows before they go to sleep, like when the tooth fairy comes! ;)
