Since Greyhawk is the basis of the core books, is there actually a campaign book detailing the world of Greyhawk, either for 3.0 or 3.5 edition?

There is the World of Greyhawk Gazetteer. You could find it in the section products of this website with a little search.

It's actually called The Living Greyhawk Gazetteer, andyou can find it on Amazon.com. It's a softcover B&W book, but worth the money for the content alone. Keep in mind that there are no crunchy rules, only setting information, which is what makes the book even better. It is a Gazetteer and not a campaign setting, after all.

There's also the D&D Gazetteer, which is a smaller version of the Living Greyhawk Gazetteer (32 pages as opposed to 192 pages). Get the LGG if you want to DM in Greyhawk. Players who only want a bit of info for a general overview can get the D&D Gaz.

In all honesty, don't waste the money on the D&D Gazetteer. That was the first one I bought, and I ended up just wanting more and bought the LGG anyway. It really is worth it for both players and DMs

"The World of Greyhawk is the default setting for D&D" is a lie (to try and lure older gamers, to be sure). There is no official support for Greyhawk by WotC in any real capacity.

Here we go again. The default setting isn't default so much as it simply uses deities of Greyhawk and that all generic D&D materials (meaning non FR and non-Eberron) work in the Greyhawk setting. Dieties and Demigods, Manual o the Planes, Planar Handbook, Complete series, Race series, Book of Vile Darkness, Book of Exalted Deeds and others all fit seamlessly into Greyhawk or include very pronounced elements of Greyhawk (look at the Warmage as an example). Additionally, Greyhawk has no additional rules or mechanics to learn such as those found in Eberron.

Oh, I agree. I prefer the LGG. But in my experience, the D&D Gaz is great for players who don't know Greyhawk, and only want a bit of background before playing. Not everyone wants that much detail. To each his own.

The D&D Gazetteer is a very, very light primer on the Greyhawk setting. When I started my most recent GH campaign there were a few people who were generally unfamiliar with Greyhawk. I gave both of them the D&D Gazetteer to whet their appetite. Both of them now own the Living Greyhawk Gazetteer!
