I'm pretty sure this has been asked before, but I can't find it anywhere.

Has there been a conversion done of this adventure yet? I ask because I have the module, and have done my own conversion; I just want to see how it stacks up next another one, if one exists.

Thanks,

Not that I know of. No 2nd stuff was officially converted to 3e.

Never heard of any unofficial one either.

If I am not mistaken, there is a conversion for I6. HoS's 1e cousin available somewhere. Better try ENWorld than here.

Dragon #315 had some 3e information on Strahd and Castle Ravenloft, but I'm not sure if it was a full I6 conversion or not. I just remember the cover had an obviously-hurting-for-employment Lestat with a bad dye job. ;)

Oh yes, what will we do without the infamous Brat Prince? I could go on for a while about him, but I'm certain that's about as far off topic as one can get.

I've heard that Dragon had some Ravenloft stuff in it some time ago. I was under the impression that it was only an updated map of Castle Ravenloft itself, and not a complete conversion of either adventure.

One would think that, being as (in)famous as it is, there'd be a well-known conversion floating around somewhere. I hesitate to make mine public as of yet, for fear of doing it a great injustice and suffering the wrath the Dark Powers themselves.

Time will tell, I suppose. Thanks for your reply.

ENWorld has I10 available, not I6 (sadly enough)

I stand corrected. As Morte said, it's I10 and not I6.
And as WotC doesn't allow any more conversion of older material to be posted...

I must've missed that one. Why did they stop allowing conversions?

I believe it was after the switch from 3.0 to 3.5... Not too familiar with that topic, but I believe I read it somewhere... Sounds pretty clear: If one can use the old stuff, why spend money for any new?

I would really like more information on this, if anyone can point me in the right direction.

As much as I'd like to help you out, I don't really know the answer.
Maybe posting this questions at the D&D General boards may help you out.

Actually, you can continue to convert old stuff to 3E. The catch is that you have to do it in a very specific way if you want to avoid a nasty encounter with lawyers...

The conversion guidelines and the explanation of why they are that way can be downloaded from the ENWorld download section -> Conversion Library -> Guidelines and Rules.

WARNING! You have to be logged in ENWorld to access that subsection (else you'll just reach an empty screen)

Since the files were updated rather recently, I am going to believe they are still correct until proven otherwise.

Thank you for the info, Morte. This clarifies the situation a lot. ...Not that I ever had the intention to publish any of my conversions... ;)

Good, because those are the guidelines that I used. I feel better now, knowing that I didn't violate any rules or copyrights. Thanks for the info.
