WoTC is unlikely to re-print Dark Sun, or Planescape, or make a new setting anytime soon.

They already have two major settings - Forgotten Realms and Eberron. A third major supported setting would spread their writing/publishing resources too thin, and would likely hurt sales more than help them, as the company would then have to cater to three different non-core settings, as opposed to the current two.

Personally, while I like the idea of Darksun, I'd rather see some Planescape stuff come back. But I doubt it'll happen anytime soon, if ever.

No need to update the old setting to 3E, elven warriorXX. ;)

The WotC-supported website athas.org has many 3E Dark Sun products, considered official:

DS3 - basic rules for races, classes, skills, feats, spells, powers, magic rules, etc.

Terrors of Athas - hundreds of monsters from thew wastes, new and old

Terrors of the Dead Lands - hundreds of undead monsters and unique rules for Athasian undead

Epic rules for Athasian dragons

PrC Appendix I - about 40 PrCs

City-State of Draj - description of the city in the format of City-State of Tyr

Adventures: the massive Dregoth Ascending (the third part is yet unreleased); Tyrian Conspiracy; Whispers of the Storm

Seriously! You're on the Darksun Forums! Everyone on these forums at least likes if not loves DarkSun.... I would think that would be obvious. Look around there are a lot of good discussions and unoffical material posted throughout the site

I use to play DS about 10 years ago. I got back into DnD a year or so and thought that Dark Sun was gone. I found this forum about three days ago and have started pouring over everything I can find. I have visited about 20 different DS sites and cant believe what has been done with this setting. I was wondering if there is anywhere I can download the Dragon and Dungeon articles on this game? I have most of the DS stuff up to the second edition of the campaign setting. I'm trying to start up a DnD game with a couple of buddies and I think this would be a great setting to play in. I've already been to Athas.org and have the 3.5 rules downloaded. Thanks in advance.

If you need any of the old 2E materials you can buy them from RPGnow i believe. The link to them is kicking around several of the treads.

I found the RPGnow site but have not had a chance to look at it. I first see what I have in storage in the garage and then figure out what I need to get from them. This was my all time favorite gaming world to play in. Like Mad Max meets Conan the Barbarian. :D
