NUWMONT 1: A CLOSE CALL
LOCATION: City of Kelvin, Karameikos
DESCRIPTION: Prince Valen, escorted by a small retinue are passing through the gates of the city of Kelvin when he is almost hit by a crossbow bolt. The Prince is hurried to the Castle of Baron Kelvin but he is kept waiting. The Baron returns from a Barracks inspection.WHAT THIS MEANS: Someone has attempted to kill the young Prince. Despite Prince Valens own investigations he is surprised that he cannot find any leads on who even took the shot. Baron Kelvin had a mental breakdown overnight. He has developed a Multiple Personality (a Fighter of Chaotic Evil Alignment). During the night the castle experienced the murder of a Guard by an unknown assailant. The Killer was Baron Kelvin. Now with Prince Valen's Arrival, The Evil Baron conducted a visit to the Gates and took a shot at the young Prince and missed - slipping back to the castle.
WHAT THE PC'S CAN DO: If the PCs are escorting the Prince as part of his retinue they can usher him into the Castle. They can also be a part of the Investigation into who took the shot. They are unlikely to discover that the Baron was at the Gates unless they probe him directly - the evil Personality will take steps to eliminate any threats.
NUWMONT 3: A SOMBRE BOAT RIDE
LOCATION: Commercial River Docks at the City of Kelvin, Karameikos
DESCRIPTION: After two nights rest in the Castle of Baron Kelvin, Prince Valen, and his travelling companions take their leave of the Hospitality and shelter offered by Baron Kelvin and take a river boat toward Castellan Keep. Valen is still shaken by the assassination attempt and it quietly sets the mood for the trip up river.WHAT THIS MEANS: Valen is rather disturbed by the events of Nuwmont 1. But none the less he and his companions must continue their journey, now up river by boat.
WHAT THE PC'S CAN DO: There is very little the PCs can do at this point. Their Investigations will have left them all a little concerned for the Prince's survival prospects.
NUWMONT 7: A SWAMPY LANDING
LOCATION: On a lonely stretch of River somewhere east of the Barony of Kelvin.
DESCRIPTION: After four days on the river, Prince Valen and his Companions spot a Gnome Signalling from the Bog and Reeds of the Swamp on the east bank of the River and they make a landing. They disembark and begin construction of Facility that is to remain hidden below the Reeds. By the end of the day an underground bunker with a construction facility has been established using powerful Magic. The only way in or out is through the retractable hatch on the Hanger Silo. Once the construction is complete, Prince Valen and his Companions continue up river on their Inspection of Castellan Keep.WHAT THIS MEANS: Prince Valen and his travelling Companions (a few powerful Alphatian Wizards in the employ of his Department in the Queen’s Intelligence Network) have reached their destination east of the Barony of Kelvin. The Bunker is a construction facility for a small one-man flying Aircraft that is so advanced as to be reminiscent of Blackmoorian Tech.
WHAT THE PC'S CAN DO: If the PCs are here they are part of a secret department within the Queens Intelligence Network. Most likely they are very loyal Alphatian Wizards of considerable power. They can Participate in the Construction of the Facility. If they are Skygnomes or Alphatian Wizards- they will be living in the facility while the Design and Construction work on the A-1 Arrowhead is undertaken.
THE A-1 ARROWHEAD
Description
A single pilot flyer capable of travelling any distance by use of GATE. It can only be entered/exited by the Pilot using a Dimension door Spell. The Gate Spell can also function as a Weapon by gating in and out over a target a small tornado erupts as the Prime Plane connects to the Plane of Air. The Stonewall is a quart bubble in which the pilot sits. Here a full sphere display of what is outside the ship is projected using Clairvoyance (an inverted Crystal Ball with the pilot on the inside).Hull Enchantments
