Unearthed Arcana Suggestions?

Jul 17, 2005 1:49:51 Does anyone have any suggestions about the balanced integration of Unearthed Arcana variants into the Dark Sun world? Such as weapon group profiencies and the Gladiator bonus exotic weapons he acquires as a class feature and Athas bloodline progessions among others.

Most of what I change there, is from the Unearthed Arcana.

Jul 17, 2005 14:03:30 The favored terrain ability was basically taken from there too I think. Also, Shei-nad's take on DS uses weapon groups.

It isn't the first time either. I've seen some of my material released in Wizards' and other companies' D20 material almost word for word. Though, considering how you can break down the building blocks and standard wordings of the D20 system, it is hard to accuse someone of plagiarism - it could actually boil down to a great (?) minds think alike situation.

Think about it- we are using their servers, they support and maintain the boards, and monitor all messages posted. To think that some of the designers and editors are spending some time on the boards would not be a huge leap of the imagination.

Jul 19, 2005 9:22:55 I assume that that is one of the main reasons for having the Message Boards. You don't have an coptrights on your rules ideas under the OGC lincense. Only Wizards and special exceptions can exercise any sort of copyright on their rules ideas. As to story/setting ideas since we're just posting on the boards we still probably don't have much claim, but those things are a lot less likely to be taken for other reasons. ;)
