Does anyone have any information Kenkus on athas, or has anyone made any write-up for them yet. I just can't find anything except they do exist.

Brax had a writeup at one time, and I thought I had a copy of it as well.

Let me dig.

Look here. "Wisdom of the Drylanders" contains a lot of information on Kenkus on Athas.
I also have written up a little bit myself, but was discouraged because I was told that the material contained in Wisdom of the Drylanders is deemed official. And I definitely do not like Kenkus that can actually fly.

Yeah, I've been debating that myself as well. I think we got enough flyers on Athas.

Thanks for the find btw, totally forgot they were in there.

That product, as well as Villages of the Wastes, need to be revamped, put up to date to 3.5, and in the case of Drylanders, made clearer to read.

I didn't know Drylanders was considered official, I thought it was in some kind of limbo, stuck between athas.org's 2E material and the more recent 3.5 material...

They also appear in the Monster Manuel III if you have that book.

Or here, online, on the WotC website, as an extract.

It was made official a couple of years back, but it is probably the least known athas.org product.

Do you still have something of what you've written? I neither like Kenkus with wings. I'm going to make a write up for Kenkus based on the stats of the MM3 and a folk living cliffs doesn't seem to fit for that.

My basic idea was, that they are one of the new races, but found their way in human society very fast. With their stealth and ability to mimic sounds they make very good bards and/or rouges (I'd prefer bard as favorite class, as there is no other race having this class as their favorite one).

The stuff presented in Wisdom of the Drylanders is also nice but there are several reasons I don't want to go with it. One is that I don't have any stats for them (unless I take the stats of the Araacokra).

There's enough room on Athas for both the xenophobic, flying kenku from Wisdom of the Drylanders and the more gregarous, earthbound MMIII kenku in my opinion. If I was doing something with them (and I probably will eventually), I'd call the entire species of kenku a cousin to the aarakocra, nearly wiped out By Lalali-Puy war effort and as a result ultra-xenophobic. The earthbound kenku, on the other hand, began as a random mutation and managed to survive (with the aid of their psi-like psionic alter self ability; Manifester level equal to Hit Dice, 3/day) by hiding among human society, generally as rogues and bards. Just my two bits.

Agreed, but I can live with lfying kenku having a (very small) place in Athas.
