#1danisheraserJul 25, 2005 14:36:15 | Hi all. I am an old Dragonlance fan who used to be DM in the 2.nd edition Dragonlance campaign, back when Age of Mortals and the Fifth age was just something you didn't know about. Since then I have played in the Forgotten Realms, however now this all new 3.5 Dragonlance Campaignsetting has come out. What worries me now is , is it made over the Age of Mortals where there are no gods and such crap? If so, I am going back to Forgotten Realms, if not I will buy this campaignsetting ASAP. |

#5zombiegleemaxJul 25, 2005 18:32:19 | Danisheraser... there's something u should know, and everyone here didn't mention. Good u already are already seat, because u know... Paladine and Takhisis are dead! |
#6danisheraserJul 26, 2005 2:08:26 | Well, Takhisis was already dead in the 2nd edition campaign. But how did Paladine die?? |
#7aliothefoolJul 26, 2005 5:04:24 | Whoa! Paladine isn't dead...He is mortal now though...It happened at the end of the War of Souls. |
#8rooksJul 26, 2005 10:25:51 | Well, Takhisis was already dead in the 2nd edition campaign. But how did Paladine die?? No, she wasn't. Unless you mean she was in your games. |
#9zombiegleemaxJul 26, 2005 12:25:50 | Maybe you can tell us about your campaign? |
#10rooksJul 26, 2005 13:45:07 | Maybe you can tell us about your campaign? Me? |
#11zombiegleemaxJul 26, 2005 15:22:36 | Right, right, Paladine's no dead what I was trying to say is that both of them are no longer gods. So in a way of speaking Paladine is "dead". Besides Valthonis doesn´t think of him as a god. |
#12zombiegleemaxJul 26, 2005 15:59:06 | well tell him about the 5th age and the war of souls! :embarrass |
#13zombiegleemaxJul 26, 2005 15:59:51 | you would get better help at the dragonlance forums |
#14danisheraserJul 27, 2005 15:15:11 |
well tell him about the 5th age and the war of souls!
I dont need to know any more about this age. This was what ruined the old 2nd edition Dragonlance campaign setting. What I would like to know is, can the new dragonlance rules (3.5) be used in a "after the Dragonwars" campaign?? |
#15aliothefoolJul 27, 2005 15:21:47 |
well tell him about the 5th age and the war of souls!
There is a 3e hardcover sourcebook for War of the Lance. There is another book in the works for the Legends series. 3e has no problem with any era of Krynn's history. But you may want to actually check out the new age. The War of Souls was great, and post-war Ansalon, with the return of the gods is really interesting. |
#16zombiegleemaxJul 27, 2005 15:27:47 | I didn´t like the early 5th Age (the one using SAGA rules), yet the Chaos war is one of my favorite periods. 3.5 rules can be used for any era, but u can always play the "alternate future" from wich Tasslehoff came from. That way u can introduce Knights from Neraka and the Legion of Steel. |
#17danisheraserJul 27, 2005 15:44:30 | Sorry, I havent bought the new Dragonlance campaign setting yet, so I am not that familiar with the end of the Age of Mortals. However, I just finished reading some of the history, and the return of the gods sounds like something I know about. I really hated the early beginning of the Age of Mortals where there were no gods etc etc. |
#18aliothefoolJul 27, 2005 16:42:20 | Yeah, it was a bummer without the gods. But now that they are back, there are some big plot lines developing (in the novels at least. I have Key of Destiny, and I am anxiously awaiting Specter of Sorrows.) There is another sourcebook due for release next month called Holy Orders of the Stars. It's all about the pantheon of Krynn, so you can be sure there will be more than enough info for running a post-War of Souls campaign involving the gods! |
