The source of "DL flavor"

Check out this link it´s quite interesting, a lot of DL videogames were done back in the late 80,s - early 90's and guess what? According to this article many rule variants like kenders and moon magic were because of videogames! And it´s true!... at least in my case.

My first DL "supplement" was a PC game manual. I remember about 10 years or so when began playing AD&D, I added these rules to our game after reading it (I loved the idea of knightly orders and robed mages).

I think you're confusing what was said in the article. Those elements of the video game came from rules variants introduced in the pen and paper AD&D game, not the other way around. The article indicates that this kind of campaign-specific rules variation in AD&D products lead to headaches for TSR, which is probably right - but the computer games based those special rules on existing AD&D game rules for Dragonlance.

I'd agree with Cam here. The variant rules from the pen & paper game made it difficult for TSR to have a standardized video game format.
