#1davethebrave371Aug 07, 2005 15:37:34 | Are there any good sources out there on the Lesser Deity Zodal? I find myself wanting to play a character (not necessarily a Cleric) devoted to Zodal and his teachings. |
#2zombiegleemaxAug 07, 2005 19:37:01 | I can't think of any off-hand besides the LGG. However, one thing you might consider if you are playing a follower of Zodal is the Healer class from the Miniatures Handbook. I think the flavor of the class fits followers of Zodal perfectly. |

#5zombiegleemaxAug 15, 2005 19:20:33 | Go here: http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=lg/welcome Download the Deity listing (v2.0 I believe). I don't play in Living Greyhawk but I find the information they have to be very useful for my upcoming Greyhawk campaign. |
#6thanaelAug 16, 2005 7:00:32 | Even better is this excellent pdf file with additional information on each deity: http://www.theocracyofthepale.com/downloads/lg_deities.pdf |

#8AmarilAug 16, 2005 11:11:10 | Whatever happened to version 2.1, and why is there so much wasted white space? I suppose it's great if I just want to print off the one page, but if I want to add the entire content to my private, custom Greyhawk Campaign Setting notebook, it's a lot of wasted paper. |
#9franco_un-americanAug 26, 2005 13:11:36 | I don't think they've gotten around to releasing v.2.1 yet, when I assume most of the white space will be filled with dety descriptions for those who lack them. One thing I did notice is a lack of a "Rhenee (sp?) Pantheon." Was it like this in 2E, or was there a change? |

One thing I did notice is a lack of a "Rhenee (sp?) Pantheon." Was it like this in 2E, or was there a change? I've only gotten into Greyhawk as of 3e, but every resource I've ever read never mentioned anything of Rhennee deities. I noticed it when one of my players who is a half-Attloi was trying to find a diety that would be appropriate. I think Rhennee are more interested in mysticism and revering concepts than they are specific deities. |
#11zombiegleemaxAug 30, 2005 6:04:26 | I can't recall any reference to Rhennee or Rhopan gods or Rhennee priests (the Vetha seemed to me more witchy than priesty) and I actually like the idea of them being godless, either by choice or circumstance. P. |
#12ripvanwormerAug 30, 2005 12:04:20 | One thing I did notice is a lack of a "Rhenee (sp?) Pantheon." Was it like this in 2E, or was there a change? There's no Rhennee pantheon. Their gods, if they ever had them, were left behind in Rhop. They do not answer on Oerth. Real-world gypsies are mostly Christian, with purity laws resembling those of Orthodox Judaism. It would make sense for Rhennee to adopt the dominant religions of the lands they travel through, with their own spin. I can see them worshipping Fharlanghn and Celestian, and there are said to be cultists of Vecna among them. In lands where other gods are powerful, they may baptise their children in those faiths. Among those who travel the Yol and Artonsomay rivers, Pholtus would be popular, though the Rhennee interpretation of Pholtus would be different from the Pale's (concerned more with personal and tribal purity than obedience of the local laws). Rhennee do not have clerics among them. |
#13sarm_ronan_dupOct 30, 2006 20:22:25 | This may not be a directly appropriate place to bring this up, but does anyone know what happened to The Living Greyhawk Deities Listing v.2.1? Just this evening I downloaded v.2.0 which is dated March 2, 2005. Below the date is a note which reads: "Version 2.1 will be released in a few days." I noticed that this thread comes from August 2005. Here it is, the end of October 2006 and, as far as I know, there is still no v.2.1. I ask because I would like to print off the deities listing and I'd be satisfied with v.2.0, but with my luck v.2.1 would appear the next day. Does any know or have any idea when and/or if there will be an updated version or if we can safely assume that this is a dead horse? Thanks in advance for any information you might have regarding this issue. |
#14MortepierreOct 31, 2006 2:15:58 | First, you would be better inspired to ask this question on the RPGA - LG board(s) as GH and LG are two different things. Second, the new file is currently being worked upon. To translate in plain english: "when it's ready but don't keep your fingers crossed" :P |

#16theocratissakOct 31, 2006 14:59:16 | Hi all - Somewhere in my vast DVD/ HDD of Greyhawk PDF lore I have a file by alMeta and his RuneQuest writing on all the Gods. In fact, his information is so informative that when the LGG came out I noted that the gods in the LGG were not as well rounded as those done by Tal and wished that he'd been asked to write them up. Of course, he always listed them as a DMD on the Greytalk mailing list, by each individual god. I don't remember if it was him or me that compiled his musings into a pdf document (I've done stuff like that from .doc and .rtf's, as why I note it). I know he runs a Web site of his own, talmeta.net, but when I looked I didn't see the GH/RQ gods. It was more interesting to use as the basis for info about the gods than it is to use for a cleric type, since it's done with the stats needed for RQ. Again, in the stuff I have (if I remember to look), I remember going through what he did, and erasing all the RQ specific stuff and either editing it for 2ed or taking it out altogether. It was very cool. I did email Tal and said that someone was asking about Zodal, so maybe he'll poke his head here. At least I'm hoping for an email from him with his god's book again (which I'd post the Zodal stuff [figuring he'd ok it]). Here's to hoping he comes around, Be Well. Theocrat |
