As the title suggests...

I remember reading in quite a few places about Drow in SJ... problem is, there really is not much information, and the stats for their ships don't seem to appear in anything I've got (not in LotV, SaC, LS, LotSJ...etc.).

How are they in SJ?

How are they differant from 'regular' drow?

etc.

Here's the long & short of drow in spelljammer:

Lorebook of the Void: Rumors of drow, mainly centered around "gypsy-moth" armadas. No other information.

Realmspace: A little more about drow, but not much. Almost all centers around a cursed drow mage found drifting in a flitter as one of the adventure ideas.

Skulls & Crossbows: Two whole adventures about drow. Here, it is revealed that drow travel in "Nations" of 100 or less, mostly just ship crews. They stole the Monarch armadas (6 total ever built, drow hold 5 or less) from the Elven Fleet. Monarch is a "weak sister" to the true Armada, although actually more in line with standard spelljamming ships (aka not insanely overpowered). The adventures center around one drow nation (Eternal Night, IIRC) trying to forge an alliance with the neogi.

WCC: Not much more, just added the Jade Spider & Jade Spider Commandship (both seen as rather silly, given they're constructed of adamantium, precious metals, & gemstones, and have little to no armaments).

Dungeon (An Artist's Errand): Probably THE definative source of drow in Spelljammer, oddly enough. Here, the author reveals that SJ drow originated from Realmspace, gives them various magic items to allow them to cope with space (a helmet to block excessive light, and a box to preserve drow enchantments). They use a dasmelfly (with deckplans!) and a Man-O-War (nasty ship, it is) for the adventure, as well as a Monarch Armada in Realmspace (not detailed). The nation is called the Black Widows. A++ in terms of source material.

Online, there are a number of sources about drow, mostly involving references to drow-conquered spheres (though these are rarely detailed). I've done a little with the drow, including a city (Nightweb) and a Moon-of-the-Month where good drow "won".

Hope that helps!

Thanks!

Hadn't checked SaC too thoroughly...recently aquired, you see.

WCC is annoyingly difficult to find, so haven't gotten that.

Realmspace I have read...some interesting stuff...

Am tryna get that Dungeon article...

Am a fan of your work, but haven't read those bits yet...under Places, I assume...

Have read that MotM article, it was interesting, and useable.

Skulls & Crossbows & the Dungeon adventure are your best sources. I wouldn't recommend WCC unless you can get it cheap (toy stores used to sell it for $3 about 10 years ago). Realmspace is ok, but you need to read Paul's update articles to really help flesh it out

I'm not entirely certain Nightweb ever made it to BtM...it might have been something I posted to the list. Its old, so its probably not up to snuff

Most of Paul's brilliant updates for the 2e Realmspace supplement can be found here:- http://spelljammer.org/worlds/Realmspace/
