Hey guys!

My friends and I have just started a D&D game using a fusion of Spelljammer and Ghostwalk as the setting. (It's basically Spelljammer with one of the planets being Manifest).

The goal is to get through 150 levels (yup! 1-5-0!) and tell a great story on the way. It's gonna be epic, hopefully entertaining, and each game session will get a write-up, so anyone who's interested can read along with the adventure and see how we're doing.

It's not going to be crunch heavy - it'll be a lot more story oriented and the write-ups will reflect that. But we'd love for you all to come take a look at our site.

Check back for more updates as some of the sections aren't finished yet (locations, NPCs, etc.) but there are some pictures of us prancing around like idiots, a couple of maps and the first game is session is already up!

Anyway, hope to see you all around there,
Toaster (Becky).

Level one, baby!

I hope the ride is fun!

The first adventure's already up. As I'm in charge of writing them, and I'm currently in the last two weeks of a degree course, the next one will probably be up in early october, along with website updates, character write-ups, etc. I'll come back and bump this thread when it happens.

Yes we might be 150, but dagnabbit, we'll get there!

Realistically we estimate this will take 8 - 15 years... Yeah, we're nuts.

We don't always stick to the guidelines in the DM Guide because we're a roleplay group so we like to get extra points for roleplaying, plus we don't always kill a ton of monsters. Although my character has already managed to die once...

I have played in 5 campaigns, and my current one is the only one that has had more than one game. Good luck, and by the 9 hells, don't make a fool of yourself

Hey guys,

Game three is now up!

Here's the link to the website: http://embark.to/ghostjammer

Or, go straight to the game write up here: http://www.livejournal.com/ghostjammer

The game got cancelled a couple of weekends in a row due to nigh-on food poisoning, the aquisition of new jobs and EEEEEVIL teachers, but real life seems to be calming down and we're back on fantasy-life target.

Character descriptions should be up in the next week and the next game a week or so later.

savant_warlord - we don't intend on making fools of ourselves (err, any more than we already have by posting half of those pictures) and if it makes you feel any better about our likelihood of continuing with the campaign, the other game we play has been going strong for four years. We play games to *last*.

Hope y'all enjoy,
Becky.

Wow! I totally dig your idea and enthusiam! I've been plucking through and snagging idea's out of Ghostwalk recently myself, but this idea simply never occured to me. Very good. But yeah, in a true Spelljammer campaign, would each world have it's one planar cosmology or would all worlds adhere to one? Good question...I guess to make things less troublesome I'd probably adhoc that and say each Crystal Sphere might have it's own rules governing planar cosmology. Anyway, this has really got me thinking. Do you have all of the dead from all of your worlds drawn through the Ethereal plane to the Veil of Souls...to his one world? Too cool! Anyway, keep us informed, I'd like know how this turns out.

6-8 year huh? I do hope 4th edition doesn't come out in the middle of your campaign, that could be quite disruptive.

From our GM - who posts here as tallforadwarf:

Nah, all the crystal spheres share the same cosmology. We use the Ghostwalk deities as they tie in better with the Ghostwalk half of the setting. I've never thought that the crystal spheres should be as all-encompassing as they are. So in our game they're just gateways.

The whole thing works so much more *epicly* if there is just one large river of souls with its tributaries all flowing into the river from the different planets, before flowing through the gates in Manifest (city).

Glad you're all enjoying it, one of the most interesting aspects of the setting has yet to be explored - how all of the non-humanoid races who don't enjoy the benefits of becoming ghosts react to this cosmology and how they view their own existences.

Stay tuned!

Peace.

We're not too fussed about fourth edition coming out. We're still using 3.0 as none of us wanted to shell out for 3.5 and we didn't find the improvements to be that much of an improvement.

See ya round,
Becky.

I dint see a reason to shell out for it either. I just downloaded the SRD, printed out the classes that I changed, and went from there. I finally bought to 3.5 books about 3 months ago, because I had extra money left over from soem active duty time I did with the National Guard.
