Because I like variants, I'm gonna toss out this one. Has anyone thought of playing a mystic with access to the druid's spell list rather than the cleric's spell list? With either the Animal or Plant domain, it could really build flavor for the mystic.

If anyone's already tried this, I'd love to hear how it worked out.

The nomad shaman prestige class in Age of Mortals permits mystics who take the class to start picking their mystic spells known from the druid spell list. Feril, the Kagonesti elf from the Dragons of a New Age trilogy, has levels in nomad shaman.

Do you think she had an epiphany after war of souls. From reading the beginning of Lake of Death I kind of got that impression

I asked Jean Rabe about this once, but her answer was a bit confusing. Jean was approaching this from a novel perspective, but she sort of looked at Feril as being a little bit both mystic and druid. Or at least she was a mystic who revered Habbakuk.

Despite Feril being a nomad shaman, she really is the best example of a druid in Dragonlance. To truly accurately portray her, I would give her druid levels and just say that she draws her magic from mysticism.

I haven't read Lake of Death yet, so she may have very well undergone an epiphany.

Been such a while since I've looked at the nomad shaman that I'd forgotten. Thanks.
