#1zombiegleemaxOct 01, 2005 4:32:10 | I just saw the movie "MirrorMask" and it is a very PS-esq movie (yes, this is the "PS-esq Looking Movie" from the thread of the same name on Planewalker.com). It was sooooooo well done, script by Neil Gaimen . The visuals were incredible! Think of a tweaked version of Sigil, only the light side of Sigil is seperated from the dark side physically. I don't want to give too much away, so I won't say much more about the plot. It just came out in limited release on the 30th, and if you live in a place lucky enough to have this film playing at an art-house-theater, go and see it. There was a guy there to see it all the way from Arizona to So. Calif. since it wasn't released in AZ. The critics said that it sucked, but what do critics know anyways? :P My husband and I loved it! Got me to start drawing again (haven't been for a while and that is a problem because I am a professional artist) and is getting me writing as well. A greatly inspired movie. Anyone else see this movie yet? What do you think of it? |

It's beautiful in every way. As for the critics, some gave it mixed reviews and some gave it very positive reviews. The ones who gave it negative reviews suffered from a variety of mental ailments: the contempt writers naturally feel for visual artists, and the ignorance of those who don't understand the fantasy genre, or children's fiction, or the logic of dreams. |
