#3KamelionOct 04, 2005 13:57:15 | The epicentre of the Great Earthquake was about 400 miles northwest of Tyr and it took place at the same time that young Rkard cast his sun spell on the Dark Lens. There is a decent description of the extent of its effects on page 10 of Beyond the Prism Pentad. The site itself has never been covered in any published material and theories abound as to its precise cause and nature. |
#4PennarinOct 04, 2005 14:02:18 | The event is said to have occured at the same time the Cerulean Storm was created. Even though the DS authors never revealed the source of the eartquake, or the why it happened at that precise time, the coincidence was probably meant to make the Great Earthquake and the Great Rift be part of DS myth. |
#5zombiegleemaxOct 04, 2005 14:51:07 | 400 miles northwest eh? that would put the epicenter somewhere in the vicinity of the southeastern corner just at the border of D4...should i incorporate that into the map of that region? some sort of rift or something? maybe it was the messanger? crashed into the crimson savannah? |

Not a bad idea, might as well mark the spot for people who are interested. |
#7cnahumckOct 04, 2005 21:10:24 | maybe it was the messanger? crashed into the crimson savannah? to me, it doesn't make much sense to have it be the messanger, because it would have crashed three years after it was supposed to arrive in the sky over athas (it's on a 45 year cycle) that being said, it still could be if something happened to it, i guess it's up to the DM, unless athas.org comes up with something "offical" later on. |

It was explained in brief in the DS2 rules, specifically, in the Wanderer's Chronicle. |
