So the Dark Sun Forum is the second most posted and has the second most threads (35,064) on the WotC boards, losing only to Dragonlance (42,699), a published setting.

Grayhawk, who has 30% less threads and 54% percent less posts, is not published, but has a living campaing running.

Am I the only one who sees something wrong in this picture?

Ya but have you been on the DL board. I spent some time over there and found that the discussions were boring and many of the people were really uninformed in a really published world. Add to that, but they also have very few original ideas floating around the board- whereas the Dark Sun board is full of great material created by the fans.

After what they showed us in the Dragon and Dungeon magazines, I really hope wizard does NOT release 3.5 Dark Sun stuff...

Anyways, d20 is a much better vessel for Dark Sun than D&D, IMO anyways.

Now if wizard wants to release my unedited stuff, that's another thing... ;)

I actually prefer it this way!

If WotC decided to print something official, it would no doubt a) cause massive confusion to anyone attempting to start up a new DS campaign. b) players tend to cling to the rules which will give them the biggest advantage, so one set of rules is always best. It minimizes the whining.

I believe the hard work put in the last 3+ years has been admirable and I wouldn't change a thing! I personally, don't have the time to create and covert an entire world.

Thanks guys for making DS 3.x a reality!

Now if I could just find two more players...

I'd give you some of mine if I could. I have 7 right now and an observer! My old players came flocking back when they heard about Dark Sun!

Ah man, why dont you live closer? hum? I could, for a looooong time, be a darksun player... Always been DM for age!

I started a new campaign 2 months ago and right now I could use 1 or 2 more PCs in my game. I only have 3 players:

Kassius the mul, 4 level fighter
Alrik the human, psion telep 3 / Preserver 2
Helwind the half-elf, rogue 2 / psychic warrior 3

No cleric! Muhahaha. They really have to use their brain.

According to WotC, Greyhawk is published. That's the "default" setting for the D&D 3/3.5e books.

Would any of you even want to be involved in a living campaign setting. From what I hear they aren't really very alive, it just following moldules to the letter with a bunch of people you don't know very well. You're not able to have any significant impact on the world and the person who runs the game doesn't give a crap about your characters personality, goals, or discissions.

I don't know, maybe a DS living campiagn would be better, but from all I've seen and heard of the living Greyhawk one they really blow!

Maybe it is an advantage for the DS board not having published 3/3.5 Darksun material. It means that people come to this board to discuss conversions and ideas becouse they can't find them in books. It also makes Dark Sun 3/3.5 a world at least partially created by fans for Fans.

1- strap the cats to the horses.
2- strap the fish to the cows.
3- attach the aquarium to the dogs.
4- rent the house with stable and garage to hippies: they could do some kind of Woodstock du Bas-du-Fleuv (ché pas si tu va'm'crèire).
5- stampede your horses and your cows to wherever you need to move.

mmmmmmm... horses and cows.........

I agree, we have the most active community that is actually working on the stuff. I used to post alot on the dragonlance boards a long time ago.... but it really got to the point where there were no real new ideas over there.

Although our community is still working hard both in Athas.org and outside.

And a Living Athas campaign setting would be alot more realistic than a living Greyhawk... as after all just surviving a module in darksun is a win..... not like in other campaigns.

Oh btw the d20 version I have been working on, is becoming a whole fragging new alternate players handbook.

I just updated the thread on it about the magic system for those interested.

A mekillot-pulled wagon ought to do it.

I for one would have to move the whole Ecology department... too much paper work, sorry.
