Oct 18, 2005 14:38:14 Wasn't the Great Sea just another name for the Sunrise Sea, otherwise known as the Sea of Silt in modern Dark Sun times? Or am I mistaken on that one?

The Last Sea is the area far to the north of he Tablelands. Most of the material on it comes from the supplement Mind Lords of the Last Sea, which there are a number of people who (somewhat rightly) believe that the developers were taking some good, powerful drugs when they made it. It is protected by obsidian orbs with the mids of criminals placed into the ground to scare ff intruders, has three insane, and almost psionic-lich-like creatures known as the Mind Lords who torment the population. The races are closer to what they were in the Green Age, which the Last Sea more or less is a surviving relic from that era. Druids surf, squarks eat, and lizardfolk do part-time work as nannies. Everyone forced to remain happy or else they get to live in a glass ball.

Ok, I might have exaggerated a few things there, but I was more or less giving the feel of the place in a nutshell. I use the Last Sea as one of the places that I can send an adventuring party to throw their view of the Dark Sun World upside-down and take what the players knew about the way the world works, and throw it out the window.

it's in the far north. new guistenal stands there.

No, new Giustenal is under the ruins of Giustenal (sort south of Draj, sort of between Draj and Nibenay). You have your locations confused a bit. New Kurn is kinda close to there (in the way the Urik is kinda close to Balic), but Dregoth's home most definitely is nowhere even remotely close to the Last Sea.
