I am always looking for something that will give me ideas and strike an imaginative spark for me. Thanks In advance. tainted_soul_12@yahoo.com |
#2zombiegleemaxOct 18, 2005 20:41:27 | I can name one good movie for you right now, given that I'm currently working on an adventure based on it for my group. The House on Haunted Hill (the old one with Vincent Price, not the new one) |
#3zombiegleemaxOct 23, 2005 19:43:30 | Sleepy Hollow Brotherhood of the Wolf Mary Shelley's Frankenstein Bram Stoker's Dracula The Village (up until the ending) For music - the soundtracks to these work pretty well also :D |

I did this last week though it was actually from the "Dark Tales & Disturbing Legends" book. If you have the 3rd ed books they actually give you a list of suggested movies. It's a pretty good list. It consists of: An American Werewolf in London (1981) Black Sunday (1960) Blade (1998) / Blade II (2002) The Blair Witch Project (1999) Bram Stoker's Dracula (1992) The Bride of Frankenstein (1935) Cat People (1942) The Company of Wolves (1984) The Curse of Frankenstein (1957) Curse of the Demon (1957) Curse of the Werewolf (1961) Dracula (1931) The Exorcist (1973) The Fearless Vampire Killers (1967) Frankenstein (1931) Freaks (1932) The Frighteners (1996) From Hell (2002) The Haunting (1963) The Horror of Dracula (1958) The Howling (1981) I Walked with a Zombie (1943) Ladyhawke (1985) The Mummy (1932/1999) The Name of the Rose (1986) Night of the Living Dead (1968) Nosferatu (1922) The Shining (1980) Sleepy Hollow (1999) The Wolf Man (1941) |

#6humanbingNov 20, 2005 21:21:54 | Memento is interesting. It's not particularly Gothic, but it's enough of a mind-dope to turn a Darkon campaign around... imagine a group of adventurers who forget everything and have to rediscover it. |
#7The_JesterNov 23, 2005 10:32:23 | The Others is great for getting the 'feel' of Ravenloft. Anything where atmosphere and style take the wheel in place of blood and splatter. Music is harder, classical works, as does opera. Video game themes are also good, they blend well with the background without being overpowering and too familiar. |
#8zombiegleemaxNov 23, 2005 15:20:52 | Memento is interesting. This works really well for a Night in Hell one-shot. Pre-gen characters with short descriptions, not of themselves, but of all the other characters... they have to learn who they are by interacting with the others in the course of defending themselves from whatever is hunting them. |
#9zombiegleemaxNov 29, 2005 3:14:33 | Soundtracks to: Van Helsing Bram Stockers Dracula Batman begins Gladiator Conan Aliens All Lord of the Rings Soundtracks The Crow Score I like the Soundtrack to HP Prisoner of Azkaban and HP Goblet of Fire |
#10morbidDec 08, 2005 23:47:37 | I put a lot of SAW things in my game. Well it's only one guy, and he's got other reasons for trapping them and torturing them. Watch the movie SAW. And for music, like I tell everyone, email me at morbid@verizon.net and I can give a huge list or any situation. |
