It says that the gate to the 2nd layer of Arborea lies "within a crystal city beneath the waves". Any idea why this crystal city isn't given a name? Being a gate from one layer to another seems rather important. I'm planning out an adventure which takes the PC's between layers and more information about this city or even Deep Sashelas's realm would've been nice. The city isn't named & the gate isn't described. Is there any other source that describes this city & it's gate or am I going to end up creating a cities details on my own? |

"Depending on the power's mood, it lies either in the Sparkling Sea at the edge of Arvandor or somewhere in the watery layer of Ossa. However, a body can always use the Sparkling Sea to reach Elavandor - a series of ever-widening caverns near the sandy bottom eventually opens over the great chasm where the deity dwells. Wherever his realm's found, Deep Sashelas constantly builds new islands, coral reefs, and grottos undersea. " Sashelas' palace sits at the bottom of a chasm; it's constructed of coral, gold, and veined marble. The water around is pure and brilliant blue, despite its depth. Any good-aligned elf in the realm can breathe this water as if it were air. However, I wouldn't personally require characters to go through Elavandor to reach Ossa. I mean, that's certainly one way - go there and wait for Deep Sashelas to move it to Ossa - but as Arborea is a plane of emotions, simply changing one's mood ought to be enough to change layers. See this essay on Ossa for more on the subject. In fact, it seems likely that Ossa and the Sparkling Sea are one and the same. |
