#1zombiegleemaxOct 30, 2005 18:08:27 | Has anyone ever done up Spelljammer as a totally self-contained cosmology, with no references to Oerth, Krynn, Athas, and all the rest, yet still with all the core elements of the setting? --I think it would be a neat way to officially reserrect the setting, should someone liscence it NB |

Well, the Shadow of the Spider Moon module comes close to it, but it doesn't retain all the core elements of the setting. See here:- http://www.andycollins.net/Projects/Spelljammer/Spelljammer.htm |

I have, but I don't have a complete "setting guide" yet. No where near done. Takes a lot of work to come up with a completely new setting that's both interesting and original |
#4zombiegleemaxOct 31, 2005 14:17:56 | no kidding! I'm working on that very thing however. If you're looking to create an entirely new sphere the lorebook of the void has some stuff for randomly generating the planets in a sphere. Might serve as a good jumping off point. |
#5nightdruidOct 31, 2005 14:28:28 | Oh certainly! But I'm pretty well past the point of using the random charts; I may use them on occasion, but I prefer to write up stuff to mesh well together rather than let random dice do the work |
#6zombiegleemaxOct 31, 2005 14:31:26 | yeah, but those charts make for some really hilarious spheres: case in point i rolled one up and ended up with a planet that was a giant cube of air with asteroids floating around it. |
