No, this isn't a thread about Spelljammer, though the Krynnspace supplement, which I don't have and have never read, might get mentioned a few times.

Anywho, what might be found on Krynn's three moons? We know from official canon that it is possible for Material Plane creatures to visit the moons (i.e., the gnomes visiting Lunitari to steal the Greygem of Gargath), so, if my plucky band of adventuring PCs should decide to duplicate that feat, what should they find?

--after all, if gnomes using no magic at all can do it, so can my PCs NB

well one of the old module's (dragon's rest?) had a map for lunitari's surface and some info. and one of the books had sturm and kitiara visit a moon, though i'm not sure how mainstream canon either of those are.

the real question should be . . . what do you WANT them to find? and what do they hope they'll find?

Krynnspace tells us that Nuitari's inhabitants consist mostly of "marooned lutums, lensman beholder-kin, and an undefined number of argos". They are said to be all evil.

On Lunitari we find a "quartet of watcher beholder-kin, a mated pair of old hadozee, plasmoids, and a rastipede".

The specific inhabitants of Solinari aren't properly defined, but we are told there are few people living there.

That's...boring. I wanted something more than that....

I wouldn't say that. The beholder-angle is interesting, especially when you consider that beholder-kin really don't have that much of an established basis in DRAGONLANCE.

Aside from these suggestions though... I suppose you could populate it each of the moons with creatures of your own choosing. What would you like to see on each moon?

On Lunitari there is a Brass dragon named Cupilex, (or somethinng like that I'll find out later) from the book Darkness and Light. He was put there to guard 496 (give or take) good dragon eggs. The magic from the combined eggs gives anyone on the planet unnatural powers ex. Super strength/hearing/sight, Extreme speed, Visions of far away places, the ability to make rain, logic... it all depends on the persons personality. There are also a race of tree people and a race of 6 foot crystal ants. The ants guard and tend the eggs. The closer you come to the eggs (miles) the more the powers increase. In the book one person loses their glove and when they go down into the caverns to look at the eggs they find it, but it had come alive with a heart beat and all. But if you don't want to use this it won't bother me.

Cheers :D ,

After reading the novels, many more than twice, I felt inspired by Defenders of Magic Volume 2: Medusa Plague. That each moon's resident population would be determined by the deity of said moon, as each are aware of what happens on their moon.

Hence for my game, I had rembered that in one of the books (Chronicles Trilogy Vol 1: Dragons of Autumn Twilight, book 2 chapter 10) the drow were only quickly mentioned, the banshee in the treasure of Kith-Kanan at pax Tharkas, thus I decided to put a city of drow on the black moon, well in the black moon.

My logic, since the drow were evil of old and exceptional magical skill, and my players were not ready for them. It was a new and unexpected twist, since traditionaly there are no drow in DL.

My advice for you, if your players are making for a moon, surprise them. The moon gods are among the most active, and might be keeping something new and unknown on their moon for their side. PUt what ever you want that is of the correct alignment on the moon they go to.
