I heared about selling the roleplaying books over the net in pdf files.
I was wondering if it really is true, and if it does if the holy order of the stars is avaiable too and where.

You mean by legal means of course... ;).

Both paizo.com and RPGNow.com offer a wide selection of DL (and TSR/WotC) products as PDFs for $4-$5 US respectively.

I looked oevr the sites.
In paizo.com I found plenty of dragonlance books just not the ebooks
In rpgnow.com I found plenty of dragonlance ebooks, but only of ADND version

Please tell me I searched for it poorly, because 5$ is really tempting. i expected it to be atleast 10$ :D

Let's see..

Copy/paste the following directly to your browser or they might not work

http://www.drivethrurpg.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=256_35_322

http://paizo.com/store/downloads/wizardsOfTheCoast/aDAndD1/dragonlance

http://www.rpgnow.com/default.php?cPath=1_297_307&

Hope this helps...

The first one, truly has some. But it misses "Holy order of the stars" that I need
The other two are ADND books, which I really dont need.

Thanks for the good will though.

I'm not sure you will get Holy Orders yet. Give it a few months to be on sale in hardcover before it goes electronic if it does at all.

Cheers,

sob sob.
Why being so harsh?
You could atleast make some empty space for me to prepare myself mentaly.

Ah well..
Thanks for the answer...now I'll have to see how much time can I take it without buying the hardcover, in few months an airplane might crush into my room.

Does it mean that .pdf sales truly have a negative impact on hardcover sales? From what I understood, most companies who went through it didn't seem to suffer from it. Take Green Ronin, for instance. Most of their newest books come out as .pdf weeks before the printed edition is available.

I am not saying it's doesn't have a negative impact, just that I am curious to know if it's the reason SP won't sell new books as pdf.

I really have no insight into the way this works for Sovereign Press, so I am the wrong person to ask. Sorry!

What is the benefit of having a pdf book?

A search function.

Just having the ability to easily find an obscure reference you might have forgotten with little difficulty makes PDFs a viable option for those of us who like to plumb the depths of the DL material for their campaigns.

an inability to carry around dozens of books. i'm travelling outside the states, and having my laptop with pdfs on it is helpful. all the old dark sun and dragonlance pdfs conveniently taking up no physical space.

now if only war of the lance were available as a pdf . . .

The size of your own library makes having certain books as pdf only rather attractive (especially after your wife starts complaining just how much space they take.. )

Let's face it, there are a ton of books out there that you'll never bring to the gaming table because they're just tools for the DM when designing an adventure. Thus, having them as pdf makes sense.

Finally, many publishers sell those pdf at a lesser price than their hardcover version. Another great incentive...

Hi there! The older books will be made available in electronic form, then newer titles. Sorry that it means no Holy Orders for you yet, but your patience will be rewarded!
