#1BRJNDec 02, 2005 22:45:06 | I found a new book titled "Wormwood Forest" which describes the area around Chernobyl, USSR. Hard-science Gamma World campaigns will find this interesting. I try to run GW with more of a Vol1 feel - biological wierdness - and it seems I will need a lot more PSB (pseudo-scientific bologna) than was first thought. Studies show that constant low-level doses of radiation do not kill everything in sight, and many species have a 'threshold' level which must be reached before they suffer changes. Aspens are radiation-resistant, so an aspen forest is also a dangerous hazard. An irradiated pine will grow into a fuzzy bush, not a needled tree. There are a lot more such details. Do find and read this book. |
