In another forum, I found this nice link where we are able to add ourself and see where everybody is living.

I think it would be a nice ideas to know where we live. Somehow, it might help us to find friends to play Darksun. Here is the link and of course, I am the only one at this moment on the map

Anyway, I have put also my birthplace Barcelona.

I will see if I can delete Tokyo then.

Btw, there is no need of taking just a main city, you can go through all the map and pinpoint right where you live.

As an example, the map have Riviere-du-Loup, but doesnt have Saint-Arsene in the bank. BUT if you go to Rivière-du-Loup and scan for your real location, you will find it on the map.

Cool. I think I've been through there. When I was in Germany, I was in Wiesbaden for 2 years, and Baumholder for 2 years. In both cases, I'd get away over the weekend to go around Germany and the surrounding regions. Ja mann! 'Türlich! Mein Vater kommt aus Deutschland und meine Mutter aus Island.

When I was 6, my parents moved to Germany from Iceland. I went to school there and when I was 11 I moved to my grandparents in Iceland. My dad's from Lübeck and I partly grew up there, because all our relatives live there and that's where we moved first. Hey now, don't be dissing WoD just because it only uses one dice. That's not lame, that's just simpler.

Besides, as much as I like D&D, I like WoD better when it comes to actually trying to get people to roleplay, whereas D&D is built more for hack n slash, which can be fun too at times.

I have to agree with Nyt. The WW systems are much more roleplaying oriented, and the simplicity of a point-buy non-level non-class based system is quite appealing. With D&D, not only are the book written with generally low-quality fluff, but they can't keep their incharacter and out of character references straight. On top of that the preponderance of rules makes it difficult for the Players and DMs to focus on other aspects of the game because they are so busy trying to figure out how to optimize their characters, or looking up spells, or make the best tactical decisions in battle, etc.

Most D&D books are 50% or more rules. Most WW books are 75% or more setting/plot information and what is there is much higher quality as well.

Now don't get me wrong. I love D&D, but I wish they could get their act together over at WotC and get some better writers, because I'm sick of seeing sh-it like the Raptorans and Illuminians were it looks like they had a twelve year-old write the descriptive text.

rules can be a lot of fun... and the settings for D&D offer a much more light hearted atmosphere to constrast with the unrelenting darkness of most WW games. WW's biggest flaw is definately their panchent for darkness and pervertion. In comparision D&D is much more wholesome and doesn't have a corrupting influence on children like the WoD games can.

If little Timmy became the b!tch of a charismatic older guy at the local vampire bar, and oh look little Timmy's only going out at night now and he wants to be adressed to as Vajran the Immortal, what would be the chances the game the kid had been playing for years beforehand was D&D? Corrupting influence? Sage is right. ;)

Its a cautionnary tale.
Sage wrote WW's biggest flaw is definately their panchent for darkness and pervertion. In comparision D&D is much more wholesome and doesn't have a corrupting influence on children like the WoD games can.
So I wrote in turn a cautionnary tale about the quintessential american kid who becomes a wanna-be vampire and screws up his life.
Then I asked what game he played before it happened: D&D or the aforementioned game?

But if little Timmy leaps out of the window from the 3rd floor thinking he´ll only take 3d6 points of damage, he´s been playing D&D. :P

I actually said this to a non-roleplayer whom (Ral have mercy upon her) had been exposed to RPG stories and humour for three hours at a birthday party with mostly geeks and/or roleplayers. She said she would leap out the window in case of a fire. I said "Ok, you´ve been exposed to too much roleplaying for one evening, when you think you can leap out a 3rd-story window and only suffer 3d6 hit point damage." Needless to say, it was the joke of the evening and even she got it.

D&D does have that book with explicit content, though. What´s it called again? Oh, yes, the Book of Exalted Deeds. ;)
