#1 zombiegleemax Dec 26, 2005 9:21:48	Hey yo. I just want to get some ideas from others about how drgonlance could have turned out differently. Alternate history/what if/elseworlds/infinities kind of thing. Think from the very beginning of the war of the lance. For example: -Tanis joins Kitiara willingly and honestly, becoming a soldier in the dragonarmies -Goldmoon and/or Riverwind die before bringing back knowledge of the gods -Caramon dies -Sturm lives -Derek doesn't go crazy and die -Kitiara succeeds in assassinating Ariakas and taking his place -Someone else assassinates Ariakas before Kit can get to it -The minotaurs invade and hold Silvanost And so on. How can you imagine things turning out differently? What would be the point of divergence and what would the consequences be (immediate and far-reaching)? It's more for fun and to hopefully gather some ideas I can steal :P
#2 chuff80 Dec 27, 2005 10:35:09	Right now in my campaign, Mina has taken her undead-creating abilities and basically taken over the kingdom of Ergoth from the inside. I created a bunch of NPCs for the Ergothian Court and had many of them embrace the faith of Chemosh and Mina's undead curse. They retain their mental faculties, but their loyalty now is directed to Mina and Chemosh. The Ergothian army is being sent off on a red herring (to help the embattled elves of Silvanost), and slowly the court is being taken over...one by one...and Mina will be using Ergoth as her new base of operations. The PC's job? Figure out a way to prove to the Ergothian Emperor that it's happening, and how to stop it. (This will be leading to a trip to the Peak of Malys, where the ruins of a Tower of High Sorcery contain certain artifacts that will help, as well as a gateway to the ruined Tower of Istar...which we all know isn't so ruined...and the holy artifacts stored there by the kingpriest.) If any of my players read this, you will be struck dead by Eldrich...and you will NOT see it coming! :D
