#1cnahumckJan 02, 2006 18:40:49 | Just a general question, but has anyone given any thought to the fallout from Dregoth Acending? Regardless of whether or not Dregoth completes his spell or whether or not the PC's are able stop him, there are some major ramifications that result from the spell. What I was wondering was what people had in mind as far as backlash could be. I have some ideas... First, the Deadlands become very interested in the tablelands, and seek to invade to put a stop to the disruption in the world. while there are not too many clerics ruling things down there, something tells me that the deadlands and the link they have to the plane of magma would be effected enough to influence them. also, somewhere (probably a fan site) i remember reading that the undead of the obsidian planes are trapped there by the same magic that made them undead in the first place, it could be the changes wrought by Dregoth's spell could have made them free to roam outside of the deadlands. Second, the Kreen Empire would by this point be really sick and tired being effected by this other part of the world and seek to invade and put a stop to it. in my campaign, the effects of the psionatrix in the dragon crown adventure series effected the Kreen Empire and caused massive chaos in the savannah. By the time the empire gets back under control, this new event effects their druids and clerics (something I see them having in abundance). Finally, (so far anyway) I see and oppertunity for two trapped people to be freed and find ways out of their plannar prisons. first is andy, trapped in the Black, second is Rajaat, trapped in the Hollow. With all the changes in the plannar cosomology, these two planes are certainly effected, as well as the grey being effected (hence my first example). anyway, just an idea. I know that people have just started the adventure, but I always like to try to plan things out well in advance, and know what is happening everywhere in the world, even if the PC's never interact with the region. it's kind of a chaos theory/ butterfly effect kind of thing. The PC's bribe someone, who get's robbed by someone, who uses the bribe to buy something for his village, that causes a trade war between merchant houses, that effects the PC's six months later. sorry for the side note, but back to the point, any ideas? |
