#2zombiegleemaxFeb 04, 2006 12:18:34 | I like the variant. It gives spells more, like wow. It spruces up your average magic missle with roleplaying. Like for example, wow that was one powerfull missle I used on that gnoll. It drained my bad by the raw power of it. Also it makes your spell hurling(fr style :D) more choicey. You have to choose the right spells, it puts more strain on the pc. Which one to use, it will drain me bad! Also it just shows the raw power of high sorcery. :D |

That's what I always thought too, which is why I found the variant rule kinda pointless. Just another rules mechanic to worry about. |
#7zombiegleemaxJul 26, 2006 0:41:04 | I personally like it. It helps to try and maintain some balance for casters. Let's face it at higher levels mages dominate just about every other class(especially melee classes) and I find this brings some balance. |

Execpt, Sorcerers and Clerics don't suffer the curse of the magi so your reasoning doesn't make any sense. |
