Dark Sun in Spelljamming

Feb 10, 2006 15:27:54 Does anyone on here play Dark sun as well as Spelljammer? and a mixture of the two? I have played a littlewith both and was wondering if there were any new ideas for campaigning in both. Ideas?

Feb 10, 2006 15:41:44 I think the DarkSun solar system or crystal sphere would be designated as a Forbidden Zone by the Spelljammer/void faring nations or ibelieved it's enclosed (?).
And it kinda would unbalanced things if a Sorcerer-King can import metals from other worlds.

Thanks! The Crimson Sphere was really a work I did a few months ago, with the help of the Darksun Board. Originally I was going to do a Darksun themed sphere (but not the actual location of Athas), but after consulting the DS boards, it became obvious that people wanted a detailed dark sun sphere. Made a few things to make it difficult, but not impossible, to get from Athas to the rest of the Known Spheres, mostly so hammerships don't show up loaded with 50 tons of +5 plate armor and +5 broadswords

Nightdruid, didn't you (or someone) do an earlier version of the Crimson Sphere? I seem to remember seeing it before & elements of it were the same, but some of the info was not. Did you adapt earlier ideas/work into this version? If so, what did you change & why?

You might be thinking of Forbidden Flight, SJ fan fiction

It was written by Richard Pugh over a decade ago. While my Crimson Sphere didn't use the story as a source, neither did I go out of my way to contradict it.
