#1 zombiegleemax Feb 14, 2006 12:28:19	Guys and ladies, I've never started a web site and want to begin one myself. what in your honest opinions is the best way to start? money is not a problem, I just want to place my things online as well, your sites have inspired me to do more. Any honest, sincere suggestions without the normal reparte' we seem to have on here please. some of us seem to forget that Dark sun is the Step child of the wizards it would seem. Of course, it does however give more leeway for our own ideals as well. input and advise please
#2 jon_oracle_of_athas Feb 14, 2006 13:22:04	Considering the vast amoung of Dark Sun sites out there, I would try to focus on a niche - such as Cyrus9a/David did with maps for example, or Mike/Dawnstealer with monster illustrations, or Scott did with Balic. Either that, or team up with someone who already has a site. Just my 2 bits.
#3 zombiegleemax Feb 14, 2006 13:32:54	Thanks Jon, I am thinking of lost civilizations and ruins of Athas. also interested in Foods and Drinks of Athas and the insects. Website is just going to be my add ons not attributing to anyone elses sites

I kinda had a falling out for a moment, a lot of stuff happened through the past few weeks...has been draining, but hopefully i'll be able to get back into the swing. But for the site, go ahead man, sounds awesome

Of course, it does however give more leeway for our own ideals as well. input and advise please Well, I built my site, wanting to provide something dealing with my various interests, as well as I am hoping eventually it develops into a community in its own right. I use it as an outlet for my Dark Sun material, but also it is used by my World of Warcraft guild for a couple things. I keep wanting to work on ym homebrew campaign setting on it as well, but time is such a limited comoddity (sp?) for me any more. So, I effectively have a site, designed to be rather expansive, which is slowly being pieced together, bit by bit. The system I use is called TikiWiki, which combines many, many features for content management into one, including (as the name implies) a wiki (collaberative) system, while having a rather complex permissions system I still am figuring out.
