#1zombiegleemaxFeb 23, 2006 10:41:51 | Hallo. I'm going to be running a dragonlance game soon in the age of mortals era. One of my players keeps saying the game won't stand without dragons. I know myself that you can have a perfectly good adventure in any campaign setting without smearing it with dragons. I know dragonlance is built on dragons, but that doesnt mean they have to stick their noses in to every single adventure. Do i really NEED dragons to have a successful dragonlance game? Or is this just the player jabbing at me for his idea of a perfect campaign? |

#4zombiegleemaxFeb 24, 2006 10:34:47 | Need I point out that many episodes of BVS didn't have a single vampire? I'll go with Cam. Put them in the background and rarely bring them out. And remember that in Krynn, dragons can take out anybody; even high level PCs. Oggie |

#7sluggoFeb 24, 2006 16:21:31 | Of course you don't NEED dragons to have a good Dragonlance game, BUT your players are basically telling you want dragons in the game, if you want everyone to enjoy the game and have fun, give them what they want. That doesn't mean everyone has to be a dragon rider or theres a Dragon in every cave or anything, but having them show up a little would seem to make your players happy |
#8wolf72Feb 24, 2006 18:50:19 | use some lesser type dragons to give them a fix ... hatori, tylor, wyverns, ibrandlun (FR), draconians (with levels even), dragon turtles, ... adventures w/o dragons are just fine, I would expect in an on-going campaign that they'd encounter a dragon ... even if they didn't know it was a dragon (go polymorph!) |
