#3rhialtoMar 03, 2006 17:07:41 | Bonus points if you can guess which deck was pictured without looking at the deckplans in CoM. |
#4HuginMar 03, 2006 18:13:17 | Bonus points if you can guess which deck was pictured without looking at the deckplans in CoM. The 'main' one? (I haven't a clue! :D ) I actually had to check with CoM to confirm my initial gut feeling. I'm looking forward to seeing the end result now. |
#5rhialtoMar 03, 2006 19:14:05 | Like all my projects, this one is unlikely to see fruition However, this time it isn't due to my having the attention span of a gnat on speed. This time, it's money. The thing is (was?) being built within a game called Second Life. The basic account (what I have) is free. Having virtual land to build on costs money, and having enough land to support the number of polygons this project requires costs even more money. Not a huge amount, but I don't have an easy way to recharge my credit card, so I can't justify an ongoing expenditure on it. For those who don't know, Second Life (SL) is a combination of paper doll, VRML, chat room, Internet radio, and has a built-in coffee maker. There are in-game ways to make money from this project. The most obvious ways would be to rent out decks to in-game shopkeepers, or run a disco on one of the decks. Is there anyone sufficiently familiar with SL to suggest a way to get this done? Or any rich/interested people prepared to kick-start this? ps: If you want to see the ship itself in SL, the address is "Doesburg, 149, 204, 271", and the command decks (yeah, with faerie ring at the top deck) can be seen at "Doesburg, 153, 192, 750". |

#7rhialtoMar 08, 2006 2:02:11 | On a related note, does anyone have some good (preferably hi-res) texture maps for the HW and Mystara? I'm thinking something on the lines of this: That's the outer world of course, but ideally I'd like a higher resolution. And I'm needing a HW version too in any case. This is for a spinning globe that will be placed in the command deck |

#9rhialtoMar 11, 2006 15:33:54 | Since I've done a lot of work on this lately, I thought I'd give you a little update image. Now that the entire main hull is there (almost, still 2 guard pods left to add), the vertical exagerration is a little more obvious. |
