#1zombiegleemaxMar 04, 2006 18:35:21 | I thought'd be a cool idea to start a thread listing some of the neat villians in Greyhawk... Iuz Brazzemal Eclavdra ... |
#2pauln6Mar 07, 2006 9:18:15 | Freddy McKreuger - evil leprechaun from... er.. was it Puppets? |
#3zombiegleemaxMar 07, 2006 9:49:46 | Is this "canon" only or can we throw in stuff from our own campaigns? Heh, I'll do it anyway. I wouldn't know what was canon and what my DM made up or imported anyway. Andrade Merious, High priest of Nerul in GHC. Blackblood the Assassin, leader of the Flame Death Assassins, a Suel barbarian by birth, now based out of the Baklunish West. Tomerast, a vile Wizard obsessed with the ruins of Maure Castle. Warduke. Nuff said. Glodretti the GHC tax collector. Greedy little dwarf. There are a lot of names that have faded with memory. The owner of the Pit in GHC (he had some grandiose fake title), the (half?)Orc leader in the Pomarj, there are so many... |
#4mortellanMar 07, 2006 13:49:27 | Andrade Merious, High priest of Nerul in GHC. I believe Andrade was the owner of the pit using that name, just no one knew he was a priest of Nerull and a Hierarch of the Horned Society. Tomorast rules btw |
#5kwint_pendickMar 07, 2006 13:57:11 | I'd have to say that the answer to most Evil Villain would have to based on the level of evil they can cause and should be classified...Therefore my answers would be: Global-wide: -Tharizdun (hey, the guy wants to destroy the world) Flanaess-wide: -Vecna (the dude wanted to wipe out the gods) -Iuz (the fella wants to take over the "world") -Wastri (the wart wants to wipe out demi-humans) Lots of Power: -Iuz's Boneheart (they're bad, bad people; take your pick) Folks PCs might actually meet: -Iuz's Boneshadow (take your pick; Lord Obmi is my personal favorite) "And the winner is...It's just an honor to be nominated" Kwint |
#6zombiegleemaxMar 07, 2006 15:21:09 | Lassiviren the Dark Evard Obmi Erac's Cousin Rary Markessa, Stahlman Klim, Turrosh Mak, etc. Sevvord Redbeard Iggwilv I would say Greyhawk has more iconic villains than heroes. |
#7varthalonMar 07, 2006 18:33:31 | Ivid the Undying... that guys a loon! |
#8extempusMar 08, 2006 2:41:01 | I won't mention the ones already listed, but one bad guy my players have tangled with on more than one occasion is Kermin Mindbender of Iuz' Boneheart. They would have killed him the first time had it not been in public and had he not been surrounded by passersby, the second time he contingency teleported away after being peppered with arrows, but the third time he was killed with a specially prepared arrow of slaying. Unfortunately, that activated a clone, and so they abducted him at Icehand Plain when Iuz was there with his lackeys to inspect his orcish troops as he does every Sunsebb 28th... so while not necessarily the most evil of villains, he was definitely one of the more challenging and irritating ones they had to deal with over the years... |
#9zombiegleemaxMar 08, 2006 15:28:19 | I believe Andrade was the owner of the pit using that name, just no one knew he was a priest of Nerull and a Hierarch of the Horned Society. #1: Tomerast is a TOOL. #2: Well who am I thinking of then? I remember my namesake getting in a tussle with some dude who owned something near the Greenleaf and Drinking Horn. I thought it was the Pit. He had a title like Duke or Baron or some such nonsense. He was just a local "tough" or crime boss but for a low level PC he made for some interesting conflict. He tried to get Valkaun to sell and he pushed just a little too far. Andrade was more of a public figure wasn't he? |
#10zombiegleemaxMar 08, 2006 21:46:14 | well, since i'm just gettin' into it...maybe i'm a little cooky. Iuz, Demi-God born from Graz'zt and Iggwilv Iggwilv - come on, she's just plane kickin'...too bad i'm going to morph her into the QUEEN OF MARALITHS BWUAHAHAHAHAHAHAH! all demon princes/lords of the nine Vecna - come on, he's just a kickin' dude...i mean lich, body parts as artifacts, whole war bit...yeah he's cool |
#11zombiegleemaxMar 09, 2006 1:02:09 | well, since i'm just gettin' into it...maybe i'm a little cooky. " Kickin' " ? I must be getting old. |
#12zombiegleemaxMar 09, 2006 13:20:33 | I seem to remember that guy 'Lareth the Beautiful' from Hommlet being a lark to DM. I must say, Warduke will be fun to splash into my campaigns, as well as some other Hierarchs I dream up... |
#13scoti_garbidisMar 09, 2006 13:49:20 | Okay, I might get banned from the Greyhawk boards for this but who is Warduke? IIRC he is tied in with the Horned Society but I could be completely wrong too. If I could be directed to Greyhawk materials that explain Warduke I would appreciate it. I think he was in a dragon or dungeon magazine in the past few years sometime. I just a semi-noob wondering about Warduke here.......... |
#14ripvanwormerMar 09, 2006 19:12:36 | Okay, I might get banned from the Greyhawk boards for this but who is Warduke? Here's the action figure http://www.toyarchive.com/Dungeons&Dragons/CostumeWarduke.jpg - Here's the Halloween costume! Here's the basic D&D module in which he starred http://www.geocities.com/zakiyah_99/toys/bwwarduke.jpg - Here are his stats from that module. Here's the Dungeon issue. He's not really a classic Greyhawk character. He's a character that was a toy and in the D&D cartoon show, which the staff of Dungeon retconned into a Greyhawk character a few years ago. That doesn't mean he's not cool. |
#15theocratissakMar 09, 2006 21:24:23 | Hi all - Ok, yes, Iuz wants to rule the world, and Vecna almost wiped the Greyhawk Slate clean, and that's big T's big deal anyway. But I said Kas, to throw you off. He's a HERO for he whacked off a few eye's, arms, hands, and what not of some very important people. But ROSE ESTES is the villianist villian. I mean, please people have you forgotten, Mika of the Wolf Nomads and his pet/companion Wolf and the fracking bastadized princess-turned-wolf - puppies that came about in the end? After Mika killed Iuz and ended the worlds suffering? What about the whole Puppets module. I loved it! A town, with a building and sign reading " Theives Guild." I had a player, a dwur, dressed in a black-not-Batman-suit, with a Red diamond in place of the Not-Bat-Symbol, that tried to scale the building after shouting out "Hey, Theives Guild people, I want to join." I was young, but, I the player was a whole lot older than me....and the town guards promptly arrested him for looking stupid (ok, I'm making that last part up, they didn't arrest him for looking stupid, we just laughed at him), and for causing a disturbance in the neighborhood. So that Player is a villian. Hmm. My WifFIEND is a Villian. She's some kind of Suck-Me-Bys. She used her wiley charms and keeps me confined...only allowing me out to go to school and check out hot chicks, go to football games, and ride really fast on my motorcycle, and buy new D&D mini's, D&D Online, and whatever else. She's really EVIL! Alright all, I'm off to visit the Evil One. Be Well. Theocrat Issak |
#16pauln6Mar 10, 2006 7:42:07 | In no particualr order: Iuz Iggwilv Rary Vecna Kas Robilar Turrosh Mak Markessa Eclavdra Lareth Ivid Dragotha Kyuss (I never rated him before but after Age of Worms...) Acererak Kermin Mindbender Xaene Evard Warduke Halga Althea Vayne Null Jumper Maskaleyne Reydrich Xavener Karasin Keak Obmi Gleed Dhalvier Arus Martoth Sevvord Redbeard Black Naubek (although he isn't that villainous, I think he's cool) Zeech Redhand Does naybody actually remember the names of any Scarlet Brotherhood agents WITHOUT looking them up...? Sister Kurinaye? I guess they are very good at keeping a low profile. I think we need more dragons, fighters, and rogues in this list! |
#17zombiegleemaxMar 11, 2006 13:14:52 | that is certainly a large amount of villians...Perhaps i need to get up on my reading...little hard to do when you have a 3 campaigns goin' on in faerun, one in eberron, and using the old planescape module...in addition to modifying a alternate d20 system...So...maybe i could have some of u point it ou? |
