#1kwint_pendickMar 24, 2006 19:20:05 | Are the baernaloths known as The Demented canon or a fan-created idea?... Kwint |
#2ripvanwormerMar 24, 2006 19:25:01 | The Demented - baernaloths, both lawful and chaotic at once, who act as advisors to the yugoloth high-ups - are canon. They're mentioned in the baernaloth entry in Planes of Conflict. The specific 13 Demented that Shemmy writes about are Shemmy's idea, though a few of them (two, I think) are partly inspired by canonical baernaloths. |

#4ripvanwormerMar 24, 2006 22:47:54 | Is Daru Ib Shamiq noted in that source (or any other canon source such as Hellbound) as being a member of The Demented?... No. That was Shemmy's idea. |

#6Shemeska_the_MarauderMar 25, 2006 6:58:07 | *chuckle* What Rip said. Of the 13 members of The Demented in my stuff, Daru was taken from canon (though he was never mentioned in connection with them, I just put a twist on his motivations in Squaring the Circle. Colin McComb read that story of mine and thought it was a pretty cool interpretation, though he didn't elaborate on if he'd have included Daru among the Demented). I also made the Baernaloth known as 'The Wanderer', Koristal Il Palanthiin, based upon an unnamed Baern that appears as a random encounter upon the Infinite Staircase in 'Tales of the Infinite Staircase'. I've also made hints about a Baern known as Ghoresh Ibn Shartalan linked somehow to the seal at the bottom of Ghoresh Chasm, the place itself coming from 'Hellbound: The Blood War'. |
