#1zombiegleemaxMar 26, 2006 4:21:01 | I have a question about the City of Glass, in the Elemental Plane of Water. I found some information about it in TSR 2634 The Inner Planes (by Monte Cook). My handbook tells it is inhabitated by marids, sea elves, tritons, nereids, kuo-toa, sahuagin and many others. It is an underwater city, with a great glass dome to keep water outside and air inside. And an ice floor. It is strange to me: I wolud expect to find some air breathers inside an air bubble... Way does a triton or a nereid live in an air environment, if he/she is in the Elemental Plane of Water!?!?!? It would make more sense to find there humans, minotaurs, gnomes, arcanes (making it a nice trading post), and some other air breather... |

It looks a little bit like Argo City, thrown free from the exploding planet Krypton in the old Supergirl comics (if you are familiar with DC comics). Although Manual of the Planes seems to have altered it somewhat, describing it as a glass sphere that is half filled with water and half filled with air. The City of Glass had a whole chapter detailing it extremely thoroughly in the old TSR product The Vortex of Madness and Other Planar Perils. If you want to run an adventure there, I highly recommend this sourcebook. Even though its out of print, you can still find copious copies on the web both new and used for very cheap price. Also, its available online as a PDF download for under $5 from both rpgnow.com or paizo.com. |

Do you refer to the old Manual of the Planes by Jeff Grubb, TSR 2022, the one with an Astral Dreadnougth pucture in the cover? I have it and I don't find any reference to the City of Glass. Colud you point me the exact page? The City of Glass had a whole chapter detailing it extremely thoroughly in the old TSR product The Vortex of Madness and Other Planar Perils. I got the .pdf version... GREAT! I'm going to print the City of Glass chapter... There is a map too! I'm very happy, thank you! |
