#2cam_banksApr 06, 2006 16:17:55 | I have just got Dragonlance, and I had little time to see it but are there Orcs and Haflings in Dragonlance? ' No orcs. The halflings of Krynn are known as kender and differ in some ways from the halflings of other D&D worlds. Cheers, Cam |
#3brimstoneApr 10, 2006 14:18:08 | While we're at it, the other big omission from Dragonlance is drow. They don't exist on Krynn (at least, no drow in Ansalon or Taladas). |
#4zombiegleemaxApr 10, 2006 17:32:49 | Yep, there are Dark Elves, just no Drow. Fine difference, I'll grant you, but there all the same. Also, on the topic of omissions, there are no lycanthropes in Krynn as well. |

Ansalon's "dark elves" are just normal Qualinesti/Silvanesti/Kagonesti/etc. elves that have been banished or exiled from their homelands (usually because they are evil or have done something tremendously evil). Drow, on the other hand, are subterranian, faerie fire usin', levitatin', blue-black skinned elves with a pension for evil and spiders. None of those on Ansalon (canonically speaking, of course...there is the occasional slip up or odd ball occurance in older modules thanks to Spelljammer and Planescape). Also, on the topic of omissions, there are no lycanthropes in Krynn as well. Right...lycanthropes. It'd get a might confusing with three moons. And although there are subtle differences here or there, those are your main omissions from Krynn: orcs, lycanthropes, drow, and halflings. ...... Oh, and psionics. But that's it for major things: orcs, lycanthropes, drow, psionics, and halflings.... (why am I hearing Steve Martin's voice in my head right now?) :D |
#6zombiegleemaxApr 10, 2006 23:57:49 | Oops. My apologies Brimstone. I misread your post. I thought you originally said there were no dark elves on krynn(I did automatically assume you mean't drow however). I also never thought of it, but lycanthropes and three moons would be a tad bit confusing. :D Also, I forgot about no psionics. You are right about that. |
#7valharicApr 11, 2006 12:31:03 | Right...lycanthropes. It'd get a might confusing with three moons. Actually it's not to bad to deal with. I've introduced them into my campaign ala Ravenloft. What I've done is sync their corresponding moon times with their alingment of Good, Nuetral, or Evil. |

But damn, those poor werewolves...once a week they're gonna be killing babies. |
