Erik Mona Promoted to Publisher of Paizo Publishing Phil Lacefield Jr. hired as web store manager Thu, Apr 6, 2006, 11:30 AM Paizo Publishing, LLC®, publisher of the officially licensed Dungeons & Dragons gaming magazines Dragon® and Dungeon®, and the premiere e-commerce site for all things gaming, announced today that it has promoted Erik Mona to the position of Publisher. "Erik and I have worked together for ten years now, and I am very pleased to have him in this important position," says Lisa Stevens, co-owner and CEO of Paizo Publishing. "Erik's love of gaming and vision for our products make him a natural for the job of publisher. I can't wait to see what he dreams up for the next ten years!" As publisher, Mona takes charge of all of Paizo Publishing's products, including Dragon and Dungeon magazines, the GameMastery⁚ line, the Dungeons & Dragons compilation books, and the upcoming miniatures line supporting Monte Cook's Ptolus campaign setting. He will also be tasked with expanding Paizo's product lines in the future. In addition, Mona will be maintaining his position as the Editor-in-Chief of both magazines. "After studying these magazines all my life and working on them every day on the editorial side, I'm thrilled to take on the business of Dragon and Dungeon," said Mona. "The GameMastery products and Ptolus minis will benefit from my experience with the world's greatest gaming magazines, and I've got incredible things planned for the near and distant future."

I thought the selected quote in his blog entry was interesting, and even moreso when coupled with his last statement. Nothing revealing, obviously, but somewhat intriguing when put into the context of his recent promotion.

#16 ivid Apr 16, 2006 11:10:37	Len Lakofka is going to release L4, with 1e rules, for free via the Dragonsfoot.org internet portal. I don't know if it will explicitely be set on Oerth, but it will continue the L1-L3 line, as far as I heard. No rumour here - the cartographer for L4 is actually my DM...

#19 ivid Apr 17, 2006 3:37:01	:D Thank you, Morte! The online games I am running there and at dablackmoor.com keep me quite busy, but I never forget to check these boards for news from the Flanaess! Indeed, it's still a good time for being Hawker, I think. Not only are there many oldschool-favouring prestige objects on the market, like the Blackmoor renaissance or Castle Zagyg, but with the Oerth Journal, OD&DITIES and the works of the 1e & 2e community that is centered around Dragonsfoot and Knights & Knaves, there's a lot of initiative for future Greyhawk projects, I think.
